  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Non Nightfall SX Prestige Waiting Room

congrats on your new Telly!! I will have my vehicle shipped east to west (Or) as well. What company did you use for shipping? Did you opt for enclosed? If you don't mind me asking, what was the approx cost of shipping?
Don't know if will help. My dealer was going to charge me $700 to ship my Telly from Muncie, Indiana to Greenville, NC thru a service they routinely use. I would expect rates for outside transport to run roughly the same nationwide. Clearly, inside transport would cost more. Mine would have been 685 miles. So call it $1 per mile. I figured out I could fly to Indiana, stay in a hotel that night and drive home next day for $325 including gas and food, so I didn't use transport service. However, I drove straight thru, napping at rest stops. Didn't stay a 2nd hotel night. But still would have come out ahead if I stayed in a hotel on drive home. If your dealer charges much more than $1 per mile, see if you can arrange your own transport. Maybe others on forum will tell you price per mile they paid to have car shipped from dealer.

I ordered a Gravity Grey SX Prestige NightFall edition in August and received last Tuesday. I also bought yesterday a white SX prestige Telluride that was available on the lot in New Port Richey Florida without ordering.
Can I ask how close in price was yours like if you built on Kia.com? Do the dealerships add ADMs on it? I was told by one they would but I don't see how If your building your own with what add ons you want? I want SX non prestige and he said it would be close to 50k but on the site it's like 44k. Just confused, is the Kia.com site miss leading frok reality?

If you build a car on the website, your dealer should not add any after manufacture items to the car. You build the car you want. If they insist on add-ons, turn and RUN away from that dealer. My build price included dealer destination charges but did not include dealer doc fees or taxes. Doc fees vary by state but they can tell you up front what they charge. And my only other charge was state car tax. So I had a final price up front that did not change. I was given Costco pricing as well, so I knew the final cost the day I ordered. Kia did raise prices before car was picked up, a slight increase in destination charge and on the base cost. This did go up in my case, but only that exact increase that the Kia build website showed. I was also given a additional shipping estimate up front but ended up picking up car from dealer myself, so this cost never was applied to final vehicle price.

I'm afraid I don't know the answers to any of those questions, everything was handled by the dealer (NowCar) and the shipping was not itemized out in the sales price.

99.99% sure it was an open trailer tho

I didn't know it was NowCar, they do include shipping free of charge. I was looking into them as well but the wait list was growing. Thank you for your response.

I purchased from NowCar and the delivery was included in the price. It was delivered to my house on an open trailer by a third party delivery service.

My VIN showed up on failcat today! Delivery in just few weeks!

How do you look up to see if you have a VIN?
You can use www.failcat.com to see what new VINs are generated by Kia everyday, then you can filter with your specific dealership code to see which ones were assigned to them. A VIN with a window sticker that had all of my specifications showed up, I shared that with the sales rep I work with to confirm and he did confirm it was mine! 🙂

I also got my window sticker and VIN from Failcat this week. Looks like a delivery of 4/18 if all goes as planned. Pretty much right on target from the original ETA when my order was accepted. Will have been right around the 3 month mark start to finish if I have any luck...
