In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Telluride sx lift and larger tires

I want this done to my SX. The 2" kit is $285.50 right now, but I would love some extra height!
The extra 2” makes a huge difference.. it jus feels right and it rides just as good as stock.. the 2” kit is really just levelers that sit on top of the strut/shocks, so they don’t impact the ride much at all.. with some aggressive tires, it looks good..

Awesome. I probably could do it myself self but I'm not sure if I have all the tools to do so though. I replaced the ball joints myself on my late ford explorer three years ago. Not sure if it's much harder or if I should take it into a shop.

I put a similar lift on my jeep cherokee. The most difficult part was compressing the springs to get the spacers/ pucks above and below the springs. I purchased a set of coil spring compressors on amazon ($30ish at the time), but I am pretty sure you can rent some at an auto parts store. Just take your time and be careful. Springs are can be very dangerous when compressed if a tool were to fail, or slip off.

As an aside for those of you that took it in for an alignment after the lift, how out of spec were you?

If I wanted the wheels to pop out a bit, would I need to look at a lower offset? Would that also help with the rubbing problem with 265/65/18? I'm looking at the KD820 wheels + Truxxx 2" lift.

I don't think the lift will solve the rubbing problem. It seems that anything beyond 31" overall diameter will cause some rubbing. Be at full lock or not. Your best bet is to go slightly smaller like 265/60 or have some of the plastic trim cut off.

Agree... I went with 20” wheels and 255/55 Toyo Open Country AT3 (31” diameter) with the 2” lift and anything larger would rub...

Looking mighty fine with that wheel/tire setup. 👌

My question is for the negative offset (or less than +30) for the looks. The rubbing was a secondary thought. Would it be possible to find wheels that will stand a bit wider than the body? Something like this, but maybe even less.

My wheels are +32 offset and they did stick out some before my lift, but after they seem to be tucked back in a bit.

That looks soooo good. How is the drive/ road noise compared to stock?

Can anyone post the instructions for the Truxxx 2" lift install? I want to read them ahead of the purchase to make sure I have the necessary tools/equipment. I'm calling the KIA dealership near me to also see how much they would charge. I want this done before winter comes.

Thanks in advance!

Here you go...

My kit came today. I called around and the cheapest price I could find to have it installed was $400 not including alignment. I might do it my self, though. I'll update you all when I decide.

That's a pretty fair price. It took my shop the full 4 hours.

Same here.. and called around and most places wanted to see it before providing a quote. It took my shop five hours to install and do the alignment.. I paid about $550 total

Truxxx lift installed by local wheel/tire shop for 3 hours labor plus alignment. Said it was a simple install. They recently did my brother's Atlas which was 6hrs labor. (Dealer where I purchased said they wouldn't do the install.) I left the rubber spacer at 100% in the back (I believe the instructions mentioned custom cutting if desired), and both front and back from center hub to fender are now 2" taller. So not sure I did any "leveling" in the process.

Went with the Toyo A/T IIIs on stock SX 20 inch rims. 255/55/20. I have the factory installed splash guard kit and immediately had a tiny rub on the front guards at certain turning points. Not really noticeable and imagine this will go away as tires and/or plastic wear down. Definitely couldn't go any bigger. Before and after pics below. To me, "after" looks like what it should be and "before" is a slammed version. :)

Looks great! I went with the same tires and you’re right, it rubbed with the front mud guards so I removed mine and just left the rear.. feels so much better with the additional height though.. enjoy
