If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Are you guys excited about the upcoming release of the new Kia Sorento US spec? I drove a 2017 Sorento SXP trim (lease) before buying my current Telluride. I actually love the Sorento so much that I have been thinking a long time if I should buy out the vehicle. I can't wait to see the new Sorento especially the Hybrid trim (all sources say US will have the Hybrid version and I hope it's true).

Release date will be next Tue 9/22

This is going to put even more stress on the KIA manufacturing plant. But maybe will take some demand away from the Telluride. Either way - looking forward to seeing the new Sorento on the road.

I hope it does well, but they really screwed the pooch on the ac vent design. It's abhorrent, so in your face ugly. The rest of the Sorento is beautiful though.

rode almost🤔 Sorento (2014) for 2 years and almost🤔 Sorento (2017) for a little less than a year. really liked the car. There were no problems, the build quality is excellent, although it is assembled in America. Thought about buying a new one, not telluride but size matters. Sorento is too small.

Yeah - the vents are weird - but I want to see them in person before I write them off. In general - I see the Telluride as the "grown up" SUV option with the Sorento as the more youth and sporty focus.

I can see that, especially with the accent pieces. For example the trim piece right next to the door handle with that weird bumpy thing it has going on.

No price announcement yet. Press release is here:

Looks like we'll be getting the regular shifter instead of the dial which is fine by me.

Just not sure if it depends on the trim level or not.

For me it's such a relief to see the regular shifter which is the reason why I bought my Telluride instead of Palisade. I am sure the Consumer Reports people will add a few points to the overall score ;)

Did I mention the PHEV next year???!!! 30 EV range is not bad!!!

looking at the video for the hybrid version, it looks like that is the one model that does have the dial shifter, and only 3 of the drive modes (Sport, Eco, Smart)

The press release said the Hybrid comes in FWD only??? Only PHEV to be released next year comes in AWD???

Agreed. I also like the fact that in the top trim they replace the funny texture on the door panel with the wood trim in front of the door handle. And that brown/copper (not sure of color name) leather and wood trim is beautiful. This is going to sell like hotcakes.

I wonder when they will start ramping up production at the West Point Georgia plant...because I could see this impacting Telluride production at Sorento launch.

Also - anyone else bummed that the SXP Sorento has a digital dash and the Telluride doesn't? I bet we see that added to the Telluride next year.

It will happen probably for the Telluride mid cycle refresh, The Hyundai/Kia brand are now known for changing things up pretty fast.....hopefully they will put the PHEV engine to the Telluride soon ;)

Most likely we see new colors, digital dash and other styling tweaks for the 2022 model year. I just hope I get my Telluride before that happens.
