Canadian 2021 Telluride

does the telluride come with auto dimming side mirrors and auto dim homelink mirror?
inner mirror - yes,
side mirrors - no

Curious as to what is the game plan of the people who have bought the Telly already? 5 year then trade in? Long term ride ? Also curious as to what buying option seems to be the most popular Lease/finance/buy outright? both of my questions I am still personally unsure about. I was thinking 4 year lease but some have said to buy outright. Ps.. can you tell I have never bought a brand new vehicle before? Haha

First day has been great. Also showing me how many bad habits I have. Apparently I don’t put on my signal light soon enough, cause the car try’s to fight me into staying in my lane :)

Also picked up what I was told was the last cargo liner in stock at Kia West Edm.

What part # is this folding cargo tray? This is awesome. I am searching online and I don't see this one exactly...at least not from pictures. Any information where one could pick this up would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I always buy a vehicle for its life.
Currently have a 2007 Dodge Ram (almost done) and my 2013 Kia Soul died with 300,000 km on it.

Picked it up at the dealer. Last one they had at the time. Apparently only available in Canada.

Finally purchased TuxMats. Love them! Had everyone who’s seen them say they look great and so form-fitting.

Any chance you have the part# handy that you share? That would be greatly appreciated so we can reference the part # with dealer parts department. Cheers!

wow 300k in 7 years. Curious if the Telly will be doing that much work?

Finally purchased TuxMats. Love them! Had everyone who’s seen them say they look great and so form-fitting.

Love my TuxMats. I didn’t use any clips for the second or third row and they are working out great.

Curious as to what is the game plan of the people who have bought the Telly already?

I turned 50 this year, hoping to keep the Telly for 15 years (turn 65), then buy one more vehicle to get to 80, then die or stop driving.

My old baby was a 2001 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) Limited, bought new on Jan 05, 2001 with 5 kms. It was a tank and best vehicle I have ever owned and truly one of a kind IMO. It never once broke down on me, or leaving me stranded or anything. Except for consumables, I had to fix heater core and A/C a couple of times and one engine sensor. Sold it Wednesday to a co-worker who promised me he was going to take care of it and actually give it a new life with big tires and lift kit.

When I sold it it had 149,500 kms. in 19 years, 8 months an 10 days. My drive to work is 12 kms round trip. (5.7 kms each way)

Mechanically, she was better then new (Cold air induction, high performance injectors, Iridium plugs, etc.), no service lights on, everything worked. She did have a couple of rust spots showing.

It was very emotional giving it up. My kid is 12, and I was hoping he would drive it when he got his license, but getting older, I wanted some luxury and creature comforts like a heated steering wheel and seats and I could not lever her sitting around that long, it would just rot out.

Probably. We use this vehicle for everything and I drive 70km round trip to work daily.

Love the plates!

I feel the same way about my 2003 4Runner LTD 175,000 km. Solid as a rock. I kept waiting for the long overdue next gen 4Runner with hopefully a lot of upgrades in safety and convenience systems, and a better engine and transmission combination, but looks like that will be 2023 at best, and life must go on. At 67 my clock is counting down .....

In the meantime the Nightsky looks like a solid and stylish solution for the next few years, and I'm looking forward to it :)!! And I will shed a few tears when I decide to sell and pass on the 4Runner.

I'll have to work to find the Telly a home in our 3 bay garage before it arrives (Oct maybe?) - two bays current are full of my tools and various projects, and my wife zealously guards the 3rd bay for her Acura RDX..

Thanks. The link to the Kia OEM 60/40 cargo protector is good. For some reason the Tuxmat link doesn't currently work, get an "Oops" error message from the system. Photos are ok though.

Like you I have ordered the Kia OEM custom 60/40 cargo protector, which seems ideal and I have seen no similar 3rd party alternates. Curiously seems only avail in Canada. I have seen some US Telly owners reporting here ordering via a Kia dealer in Medicine Hat AB and who is shipping down to them.

I am considering Tuxmats for 1/2/3 - glad to hear you are happy with them, will look at that further. Did you buy via Amazon or direct from Tuxmat?

I see there are some mat versions (Smartliner) where the 2nd and 3rd row mats are connected by a solid strip up the centre column, all part of the same moulding. I want to avoid since it means you need to take them both out at the same time, bit of a mess. Seems to me I have seen a similar version where the third row has a connected strip that runs up the center console area between the two 2nd row captains chairs, but is not connected to the 2nd row mat.

@Western I posted pics of these in the 60/40 mat thread, but I should probably post these here as well...

The dealer screwed up and quoted me the matching 1/2/3 as the 60/40 (which I got), but the 2/3 was only for bench, not captains.

So then they quoted me a "Weathertech" Kia Mat (as per their system)... and while I was pretty miffed about them messing up my mats for like the 4th time because I could not get the matching at the back, I think I made the right choice. I was going to get Tuxmats, but in the end the dealer gave me a deal and I got these for amount the same price.

The part between 2nd and 3rd row in a strip that is not attached, so exactly what you are looking for.

I can get you the part numbers if you like, or feel free to come see them in person.

I really like how snug they are (stiffer plastic), they all use the holding peg, and have a cool Kia Motor thing on them for some color.

The feel and look is top notch, so I would not be surprised if Weathertech actually did make then.

Interesting. I will preface my question by saying once again that I have never bought new before......My understanding is in Financing you own the car outright when the payment period is up. If you are doing 2-3 years that must make for pretty high payments no??? If the turnover is so quick, why not go the leasing route? I was thinking a 4 year turnover and leasing personally.

Hi @GreekWiz, thanks for the comments and photos. Yes I am pretty sure that these are made by WeatherTech and branded for Kia.

One of the problems is that on the Kia dealer accessory sites is that they show the identical part number (S9H17AP000) for various different protectors (cargo 60/40, front, 2/3, etc), so no wonder confusion and errors arise!

The list price for this premium 1/2/3 (and excluding the cargo 60/40) is $223 + $305 = $528, and less the current 10% off sale, is $476, versus around $350 for Tuxmat. I'll also check to see what direct order from WeatherTech looks like.

I like the Kia-branded WeatherTech look, and I think the Kia/WeatherTech is better suited to the 7 passenger layout with a strip front third row running up between the row 2 captain seats. From the photos on the Tuxmat site the 7 pass and 8 pass mat versions appear identical, and missing this strip up the middle for the 7 pass version. Maybe the photo is just not current.

For appearance and functionality I will likely go the Kia/WeatherTech route, particularly if the dealer is willing to narrow the price gap somewhat. I am buying a bunch of other accessories as well if they can come up with a fair deal.

@GreekWiz, if you could provide the actual part numbers that would be very helpful!

@Western not sure if this helps or not, but when I was dealing with some sales managers lately, one of them was able to hook me up with their dealership specific pricing link.

Perhaps you can find what you are looking for here: Accessories Link
