If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Non Nightfall SX Prestige Waiting Room

Yeah - been part of my frustration in this whole fiasco. Of course that isn't KIA's fault - but you know how it is...tell your wife "Hey we found the perfect car to replace the one you have faithfully driven over the last ten years...." And now she doesn't even want to hear the ETA updates. She thinks it will be December - lol.
Oh I hear ya! Wife out of nowhere asked where our new car was last night and I was like ummmm you haven't brought that up in a while babe. Haha!

Looks like failcat finally finished. 390 VINs produced yesterday. And...the trend continues:

My bad.
Quite a few SX (non P) in GG today. Still a step in the right direction.
The fact that it broke away from the black copper run is hopefully a good sign.

@StephenCantrelle sent me a screen shot showing my vehicle is slated to into production next week - so the uptick in Gravity Gray production looks like it is going to capture my vehicle. If everything holds to the current schedule - I should have my VIN within a week.

What would you call this screenshot? Want to ask my dealer for it. Thanks!

That's great news! I've been a week or so out from your ETA, so I'll likely be the following week. It would be great if all of us waiting on the SX P GGs hit failcat at the same time.

Yeah, that would be really cool to have.

One of the main reasons I ordered through @StephenCantrelle...Communication. To summarize:

1) Confidence that the information he is providing to you is true and accurate.
2) Regular communication.
3) Quick responses to email / text questions.
4) Additional information (like the above build schedule) which is above and beyond other dealers.
5) Piece of mind that you’re not going to get screwed (Car being sold to another higher bidder etc).

I know one thing, as long as Stephen is with Kia, I’ll be buying any future Kia vehicles through him. I am a customer for life!

No kidding. I am so thankful to this forum - because without it - I wouldn't have found @StephenCantrelle. When the time comes to replace my car - I would be willing to make the trip to Dallas to get another vehicle from him. If I were buying a sedan to replace my daily driver today it would either be a G80 or K900 - if I go the K900 route - it will be with Stephen. We shall see. For now - he is head and shoulders above every other KIA dealership I have experienced.

Just confirmed my ETA is still holding at 10/30. That

I was fortunate to find a dealer locally at MSRP when I ordered back in January. I had no idea about this forum at the time. If it wasn't for Stephen and this forum, I wouldn't know the right questions to ask for my dealer. So far I've actually had a really good experience with my dealer. I did ask about a build date and my guy sent me a screen shot from KFOS and said he didn't have access to any other information until he has a VIN. I assume what Stephen shared is probably above my guy's pay grade...

So despite all of the gripes this time around, you would buy another Kia? (serious question)

I am really hoping I can order/buy my next new car online, without being penalized, whatever it is. I mean come on, we’ve got to get there eventually.

Next car is a Tesla? Me too!

Other brands are locked into the franchise dealership model, meaning dealerships are independent businesses buying cars from Kia at wholesale prices and selling them to us for a profit. There are laws in I think all of the states that prohibit car brands from competing with their franchisees. If somehow those laws went away and Kia or another brand were to start selling direct to customer, it would make them compete with their own dealer network for sales. Imagine how pissed all of our favorite dealerships would be if they lost all of our business and we all just bought our vehicles online. Now imagine how much they are lobbying & politicking to make sure those laws don't change.

Tesla works because they never built out the franchise model. They owned their own stores, and when some states were still being pains about it, they just removed all sales processes from their locations. They now serve as showrooms, delivery pickup locations, and service departments. The actual sales/ordering process is all online.

LOL Well - the K900 has one thing going for it that the Telluride doesn't...low demand. Completely different situation. If we didn't have three kids and needed a three row SUV - I would have switched to a K900 for my wife's car.
