Non Nightfall SX Prestige Waiting Room

This one doesn’t show up in the Tstats with either P/T In fact the sticker shows it is a SX/PT NF.

I’m very glad that this information is available because I’m not that satisfied with what the dealer conveys. I tip my hat to those who have put in so many hours for the benefit of others. Thank you for that. It makes waiting less frustrating!

LOL Well - the K900 has one thing going for it that the Telluride doesn't...low demand. Completely different situation. If we didn't have three kids and needed a three row SUV - I would have switched to a K900 for my wife's car.

So... yes, you would buy another Kia. But maybe not a high demand one or one you have to order?

Seems like all the talk of PR nightmare, eroding customer reputation, pissing off most loyal/excited customers, etc is not actually that big a deal.

Btw, I am not picking on you, just trying to get a real sense of where this is leaving you and others in your long term view with Kia. If I went through what you and others have, I would have canceled my order and burned the bridge a long time ago.

But in fairness, here’s my take as someone who didn’t go through your situation :
- We are very happy with our telluride. It had a couple of flaws that were concerning and made us question whether the brand’s legacy reputation for quality was still true. But overall net positive sentiment for the vehicle/value
- I would never touch a custom order from Kia. Too much of a shitshow. I would rather take what’s available on the lot, or get a different brand.
- That said, I have no ill will toward Kia about anything I’ve heard about ordering or the circumstances this year. High demand is high demand, you can only react so fast esp with a complicated supply chain. And covid - well who could have seen that?
- So, I am neutral on Kia loyalty. I will certainty consider them again next time I’m in the market for a vehicle and they have something in the category I’m looking for. But each purchase exists in a vacuum so I’d look at all other brands too.

The issue for me on my next purchase is that I will be replacing a V8 RWD sports sedan. I am looking for similar power, RWD or a RWD based AWD system with a little less sport and more luxury. I have been eyeing everything that is out there and there isn't much to choose from. When you shop these criteria - it is hard to find much of anything nice (that is new) for under $70K. I keep coming back to the K900. I really like the Stinger - but it is a little too small for my kids in the back seat. I also really love the new G80 - but I fear it will be much more than the K900. It seems that only KIA/Genesis, Cadillac, Lexus, BMW and MB are interested in keeping the RWD platform alive. I really love the performance and handling of the Cadillac CT6 - but seeing as they are killing that off - I probably won't be able to find a new one in the next year. Plus - the interior quality and features of the K900 simply blows away the Cadillac CT6 - even the Platinum package that is $100K doesn't have as nice an interior as the K900.

So who knows what I will do. Honestly - much will depend on the experience we have with our Telluride. If it is rock solid - then I will probably jump for the K900. I have owned Cadillac's in the past and they are very hit and miss on quality. I detest the Lexus styling and don't want to pay the premium that the European brands charge for interiors that are far less luxurious and have very short warranties. A friend of mine purchased a Stinger GT last year and has had zero problems with it. His car is beautiful and the quality of the interior is better than the last Cadillac CTS I owned.

We shall see. Like I said - the Telluride for my wife is going to be our KIA test drive. If it goes well - they will most likely get our next car purchase as well. And of course I will be buying from @StephenCantrelle, However - I won't be ordering one again. I will buy something off his lot. Ordering a car is an experience I will never do again.

I am showing it with the correct options in my data base:

This is partly why I decided to start building my own charts. I found too many errors in the stats in the tool. Not everything is mapped correctly. Not sure why. Part of the problem is building a scalable tool that can be loaded on the internet for folks to filter has limitations. There are 24 build combinations I track (not counting interior or exterior color) the Tstats filters don't allow for that many combinations so by default some things will be missed in the filters or in the wrong production group. I am however - very thankful for the raw data made available every day. I don't have the technical know how to host the data and produce the charts that are currently available. But I am a data guy - so the daily update is perfect for me.

Lincoln is coming out with a new Town Car that has a state-of-the-art front bumper system. You should check it out!

I too was very interested in a rwd suv with a sportier attitude. I liked the outside if the Explorer ST but not the inside. Smaller with ver little useable room in the back in my opinion. I actually liked the Edge ST better than the Explorer but it’s smaller and based on fwd.

The BMW X3 was a big disappointment. When my wife complains about the lag on acceleration I knew It was not for us. Too small but handled fantastic. Now an X5M50i May be totally different And perfect for us but the price puts it into the lease only category for me.

I think I'm in the same boat as you were. I have an Order placed 2/14 of this year SX/PT Copper/Dune; I am happy with Muncie/Lucas, they get back to me within minutes (I e-mail him every 6 weeks or so); last contact early September, I had moved from 21st sxp oldest to 12th sxp oldest, but I'm starting to think that big move was because more people are switching out to the nightfall, so I'm artificially moving up in line. Way back when i saw the writing on the wall because of these forums, I planned on delivery around Christmas or so; it looks now like it could be longer, I'll wait it out a few more months and take solace in forums like this where i know it isn't just me. If we get to Christmas with no end in sight, I might move on (or I might just continue to wait - what's another six months :)

Are you an Indiana guy? That will be a GORGEOUS combo; one we would have done had we looked at an SX /P

Wouldn't exactly say Lexus, as they canceled the GS and it looks like the next IS will be underpinned by a new Mazda RWD platform.

If don't opt for a fully loaded G80 (which has more tech than the K900), should be around the same ballpark (once the initial demand dies down).

The G80 will drive a good bit sportier than the K900 (new, lighter platform) and should hold its value better than the Kia (may not matter if planning to keep for a long time).

Actually, I'm a Purdue guy, (so yes State of Indiana), I'm looking forward to seeing the specs of purple/root beer/crimson? color of it in person. I live in the permacloud of Northern Indiana (Lake Michigan) so don't know how often the sun will get to bring out those colors this winter, but hey anticipating the call that I'm in KFOS, would be a nice Christmas present to myself. Congrats on getting your T!

That brings back memories programming fortran in the early a.m. and then going to the giant matrix printers to get your results. I'm in Plymouth. Lake Michigan is about an hour NW, outside the lake effect snows for the most part but it is always gray. Beat Iowa Oct 24!

Hey boilermarc! I grew up in Plymouth! Live in Dallas now. But lived there from 88-98 or so.

So it looks like nothing has changed...except now the Wolf Gray production is ramping up - This is the week mine is supposed to go into production if KIA holds to the schedule they have posted for my Telluride in KFOS - but I am not holding my breath.

But SXP production has again gone to zero. Looks to be this is going to be the worst month ever (even including COVID Shut down months) of SXP production.

Yes. It makes no sense at all.

And as far as I can tell/sort, none of them are GWP. I have yet to see a non-nightfall GWP Prestige in AWD. I don't get it. How do you manufacture NONE of them???
