Quick update to this thread for anybody checking out Kia of Attleboro. Not sure I’m ready to throw them on the ‘bad list’, but here’s what I encountered:
Although I’ve already ordered from Lev, I live much closer to Attleboro and wanted to actually drive an EX-P since I had only driven an LX previously. I texted them, and got lucky with one on the lot. Walked in and was greeted by a salesman named Dean (I think he’s new, as he isn’t listed anywhere on their website yet). He got me right in the EX-P and it completely confirmed all my feelings that it’s the right trim for me. It even had grey interior, which was the cherry on top for me - beautiful interior

Got back and he asks where I’m at in the buying process, etc, etc. Once he figures out I’m looking for a GG w/grey he starts going back and forth with his boss to see what they can do. He brings back a printed window sticker of an EX-P, GG w/grey (second sticker he’s brought out, after I balked at the first w/ tow package) and says his boss is tight with the dealer that has this car (in NY) and might be able to swap it for one of their Telly’s on the lot. At first I’m intrigued, but come to find they’d need $3500 over MSRP to do it. I have other emails from Attleboro saying they no longer sold above sticker, so that was the first oddity.
Second, I couldn’t find it in recent
VIN’s on FailCat while I was sitting there, and only now was able to find that it was created on 8/26! In my mind, there’s no way that car is still sitting on their lot...and can now confirm it’s nowhere to be found on that dealer’s website either. I ask Dean if they can call first to confirm the car is actually on the lot, and he says he’d have to know I’m committed first (with a deposit) before proceeding.

He then tries to get me into a 2020
Sorento; I get his card and leave.
Just me, or was that a sketchy tactic? I don’t have a ton of experience with going round and round at dealers, but that was enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth.
Again, can’t say I wouldn’t go back to Attleboro if they had exactly what I was looking for (at MSRP), but am still glad that I’m at Lev, and eager for the smooth experience that others have had.
