Lev Kia is killin' it!

Already 9 VINs created for Lev in the first 7 days of October. September had 12 in total. Good sign!

An excellent sign!

It's kind of interesting to see the number of FWD vehicles they are getting. I know the MPG is a bit better but I would think in New England they'd all be AWD.

Good catch. Very odd.

There's a car matching your signature's description on failcat this morning? Any chance Christmas is coming early for you?

You know, I saw that too this morning and said to myself "no way". But I decided it was worth asking in the Track My Vehicle thread just in case. I also reached out to Ken today and he gave me an initial ETA of 12/1 but made no mention of a VIN. I suspect I am still a few weeks from seeing a VIN but we shall see.

Damn! Good to know you have an ETA...waiting on mine. Was hoping it might be a little earlier though.

Ken did say an updated list came out today and he had to run and go get it while I was on the phone with him. So maybe you do have some info waiting for you. Never hurts to call him.

Meant earlier than 12/1...just guessing since ours both went in around the same time that mine will be a similar date. I'll follow-up with him next week.

I see. Yes, likely around the same time but you never know how these things play out. Let us know what the ETA looks like when you find out.

Enjoy the weekend.

Ok, let's keep this thread going - Lev Kia KEEPS killin' it!
I just got off the phone with Ken, and finally put in my order for an EXP / GG / Grey interior / AWD.

As all have said, great guy, super knowledgeable and transparent about the entire ordering process. We both commented about how great @jenfowler78 is, and appreciate her Telluride advocacy :)

Now the waiting game begins, but hoping to get into KFOS come the November ordering timeframe.

One small detail: for out of state orders, Ken let me know that there's a $250 fee that is paid to a company they work with to register the car, get the plates, "purify the title", etc. This was new to me, and am unsure if others ordering from out of state have encountered this? He said I could possibly get out of it if I brought my own financing (or paid cash). Tax / Title is around $100 in Rhode Island, so the overall fee isn't crazy to me, but I honestly just thought I could drive it from MA to RI on their temporary plates and figure out the rest at the DMV. Anybody have any insight on that part?

Overall though, super excited! Ken picked up the phone when I called the dealership number, and quickly convinced me that this would indeed be an "anxiety free" process, to use his words (y)

Great news and congratulations! Step 1 complete! What sort of time frame did Ken give you? Still 18-22 weeks?

I do not have experience with the out of state fee but it doesn't surprise me with MA. I briefly looked at buying out of state and there were some peculiar rules with MA. I don't believe they have temp plates which could be part of the reason for the "service" they offer to ensure your car is registered and insured when you pick it up. It may be worth the hassle (or investment?) for not too large of a fee to be sure you are ready to go at delivery time.

Yes, he said 18-20...but was basically what I was expecting.

And yes, wow, I learned something new today. Guess I never noticed that MA doesn't hand out temp license plates: Autotrader - A Temporary License Plate Would Be Nice in Massachusetts

Yes, definitely now seems worth the hassle :)

Very good. Welcome to the waiting game! We are hoping to see our VIN in the next couple weeks and delivery late Nov/early Dec.
I got my initial ETA of 11/23. I can't help but refresh failcat multiple times per day, even though it only gets updated once in the morning :)

I am definitely guilty of the daily failcat check even though I really don't expect to see it for another couple of weeks based on the 12/1 initial ETA I have.

I did the same. When it does finally pop, you know you’re close. I keep telling everyone, the wait is well worth it even though it seems like an eternity. Awesome vehicle.

There was definitely a sigh of relief once the order went in to KFOS. Prior to that there is just so much unknown. To me, getting the order in KFOS and officially accepted was the point where I knew it was all happening. Since then I am just trying to take it as it goes. I know sometime late November or early December we WILL have our new car. No sense stressing now.

Wondering if Ken calls once a VIN is produced or not, since they find out about the VIN a few days or more before Failcat gets it. Either way, I'm in the same boat as you. I got my ETA and I won't bug him unless it gets closer and nothing has popped up.

I have wondered the same. If I don't hear from Ken I will probably reach out to him the week of 11/9 to see if the ETA has changed and if by chance a VIN has come up yet. That way he knows I am looking for it.

Great attitude. I started in April. Once KFOS accepted the order, the stress went down. Wait till ur VIN pops up. Good stuff!
