• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So I put a deposit in on a wolf gray. The chick that took my money said “I’m not 100% sure it has the tow package but I believe it does, once they make the window sticker I should know.” I told her I only wanted it with a tow package. Now I see the same price wolf gray vin created yesterday for my dealer and it has no tow package. Should I cancel the deposit and find another or has anyone added a tow package at the dealer? I don’t plan to tow anything but I want the option as I’m military and could need to at some point.

The tow hitch and wiring harness can be added on after, either by you or the dealer. But, the self-leveling suspension part of the tow package can only be added at the factory. If you need that suspension, you should cancel.

My opinion, get your Wolf Grey how it was ordered. Figure out what you would pay to add the tow option (hitch, bumper cover and 7-pin harness). See if the dealer will match that price to add the Tow Option and forget the self leveling suspension parts from the a Tow Package as there is little evidence it provides a towing benefit and the package does not include a brake controller. If you get more serious about towing and want to raise the back end when towing take the money you saved and buy a really good weight distribution system to go along with a brake controller. That will raise the back end and provide better handling. If you want a a better suspension when not towing after you drive the Telluride for a while consider better tires and aftermarket shocks when they become available.

This route still gives you the same towing capability. If you are in the military it will be plenty for a DITY move every few years.

Thanks good advice. Yeah my Dity days are long over I have 3 dogs 2 kids and a wife. My back is worth more than the few grand you make lmao. Last time I did it I literally moved into the house by myself two stories and I cussed like a sailor the entire time. When I wasn’t gasping for air. 😂 (Colorado altitude got me). Swore I’d never do another dity move. I only plan to tow a little $600 mesh trailer with four dirt bikes on it 🤷🏾‍♂️. I’m probably overthinking it. 👍🏾

That is one thing I don’t miss. The pocket change is nice but my back was not happy with me.

You will be perfectly fine with the Tow Option after the fact over the Tow Package if you are just pulling a small trailer with dirt bikes. If fact you don’t even need the 7-pin harness. You can just get the 4-pin flat aftermarket for $40 if your trailer does not have any brakes.

The DLA/Per diem you get for moving now a days is legit plenty. I usually get like 4-5k just to drive to a new duty station and they move all my stuff. It’s like hey thanks for the mortgage payment for 3 months lmao. I def understand why some would do DITYs though I just don’t need the money that bad lol. Yeah I contacted the dealer he said his manager is gonna look into it for me.

One other thought to consider, if you have a family and a lot of crud to haul around, the self-leveling suspension does provide the benefit that the a$$ end won't sag like a dog with worms when you get it loaded up 😁

self-leveling suspension, as I posted earlier (see post), these are just special shock absorbers. If you really want to, you can buy such shock absorbers and replace the standard ones - I don't think there are different mounts.

The springs are different part numbers in addition to the shocks. But I agree. Give it more time and there will be much better aftermarket suspension upgrade options if you decide you need it.
