Telluride sx lift and larger tires

Truxxx lift installed by local wheel/tire shop for 3 hours labor plus alignment. Said it was a simple install. They recently did my brother's Atlas which was 6hrs labor. (Dealer where I purchased said they wouldn't do the install.) I left the rubber spacer at 100% in the back (I believe the instructions mentioned custom cutting if desired), and both front and back from center hub to fender are now 2" taller. So not sure I did any "leveling" in the process.

Went with the Toyo A/T IIIs on stock SX 20 inch rims. 255/55/20. I have the factory installed splash guard kit and immediately had a tiny rub on the front guards at certain turning points. Not really noticeable and imagine this will go away as tires and/or plastic wear down. Definitely couldn't go any bigger. Before and after pics below. To me, "after" looks like what it should be and "before" is a slammed version. :)

This is what I'm after. We basically have the same telluride. HA

Edit- ihatch - do you have the self leveling rear shocks?

Add another lifted telluride to the family. Went with the truxxx and 255/55r20 blizzak dm-v2 winters. Summer time will get a nicer wheel tire set up.

Apparently they are with SX but I haven't pulled anything yet to test it out.

Any changes to the ride and handling? Or to the radar cruise control

The rear feels a little bit more stiff due to the added preload on the springs. Handling feels pretty much the same. Cruise control and lane keep assist have worked with no issues yet.

The ride might be a little more stiff in the rear due to the extra preload on the springs. Handling wise felt pretty normal. Active cruise and lane keep both worked when I tested on the way home.

I'm thinking about going with this setup for my Moss SXP. I'm curious if anyone else is running 18x8 +35 offset with 265/60r18 tires, and if so if there are any rubbing issues without any lift installed (I may get to that eventually, but not right away). TIA!

I have a question for those who installed the kit, my car sits higher on the front because I installed the extension metal piece. Did you guys installed it as well? Pictures would be helpful

I did not use the link extension. The extension should not have any effect on ride height.

I had mine installed today, and my front is higher than the rear. Im wondering if its because of the link extension that you me tioned. Have you resolved your issue of the front sitting higher than the back?

No, I couldn't. I removed the front spacers and left the rear ones and happy with the results. I am planning to install taller tires instead. Maybe 255/55/20 if it will not rub. One of the annoying things that made remove the spacers is that headlights are dazzling even though I adjusted them to the lowest level.

Did you remove the upper rubber spring pad in the rear? I left those in on my install. From the bottom of a 20in wheel To the fender I am 31in rear and 30 1/4 front. I do get a little rub with 255/55r20.

I had mine imstalled by the shop, I told them not to remove any rubber bushing as Ive read in this forum. Shop told me they did not remove anything at all, but my front wheel gap is about half inch more than the rear.

No , I didn't remove it. And I couldn't know what the problem is.

If figure out a solution, share it with us please.

Looks good man.. I have an EX Telluride that came with the 18” wheels.. I had the Truxxx kit installed by a shop, and then went with a 20” wheel and 255/55/r20 Toyo Open Country AT3 tire.. Diameter of wheels and tires is 31”. I love it.. it’s tight, but no rub.. anything bigger and it would’ve rubbed.. adding the side steps and crossbars tomorrow..
DrewD520: I got the truxxx lift awhile back then copied your tire/wheel setup ... But it's rubbing slightly a full turn! It's just barely rubbing, not sure if i should try to exchange or not. looks great

The consensus seems to be that 255/55/20 are as large as you can go without rubbing.

I'm looking to do the Truxx 2" with a spacer and use my nightfall 20" rims adding Nitto Ridge Grappler 265/50 20. Any thoughts or issues I may encounter using the 20" rim?
265/50/20 will fit fine with 2" lift, someone posted they have those on as winter tires without the lift and they barely rub at full lock. 255/55/20 is taller and likely to rub 265/50-R20 vs 255/55-R20 Tire Comparison - Tire Size Calculator | Tacoma World, consensus seems to be under 31" with proper offset / scrub will fit without rubbing... 31" or above may rub
