• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Morning. I have my first service appt coming up this Thursday. It's for 7500 miles. It's not at the dealer where I leased my Telly but it is within the same dealer network, meaning same owners. I have in writing that my first service appt is free but the cynic in me is expecting the service department to give me a hard time because i'm not at my original dealer. Has anyone experienced any issues taking their car in for regular service at a Kia dealer other than their originating one? Any helpful word phrases I can have in my back pocket in case they decide to be shady?

Thank you!!

Does the written document have any limitation on where the service can be performed? Since the servicing dealer is in the same network, you should talk to the service advisor/cashier before you take it in to see if they will honor the free service there. Don't wait til service is complete to find out they will not accept the free coupon/document.

I didn't have a free first service, but the cost seemed very reasonable. I bought mine in Indy and first service in Phoenix. Just went onto UVO, found a dealer nearby and made an appt for the next day online. It was only $50 for oil, tire rotation and inspection. I spent $70 after an upgrade to synthetic. I waited for the service to be done, which took about 90 minutes. All in all, it was a very good experience and seemed like a great value vs my other cars (BMW & Volvo).

Do you know what oil they used. The Kia recommends an oil that is Acea A5. I recently changed my oil spent 60dollars for 2 5qt bottles of oil and oil filter. Oil was Pennziol Ultra Platinum and K&N oil filter

I didn't ask but assume since it's the dealer the oil would be appropriate pursuant to the specs of the car.
