If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... After much research and test driving the CRV, Tiguan, Atlas, GLC, MDX, Q5, Ascent, Highlander, and the Palisade for the last 2 months, I saved the best for last....test drove the Telluride.....I knew immediately it was the one.

Just put a deposit down on a Black/Dune Brown SX Prestige. Got to wait 6 weeks though....got to be strong....till then, I'll live through you guys.

Where did you buy in NJ?

If his wait time is truly only 6 weeks for that combo... you may not want to know the answer to your question. ;)

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I hope time flies for you! What was it that put the Telluride over the top compared to the Palisade?

The Palisade was really nice...I felt it rode smoother than the Telluride, I know they have the same chassis, but maybe they use higher premium suspension components.

Anyway, the Palisade does not look as nice as the T-ride, not a fan of the front grille design and the solid C pillar, but I love the alloy wheels of the Limited vs the black ones on the SX (sorry I guess I’m old school), but the dealbreaker for me were two things...

1) The Limited trim (the highest) is not equipped with power folding mirrors. I was actually shocked since the Palisade is considered a higher premium brand vs Kia and it was a must for me since at work the parking spaces are very narrow.

2) I’m a big guy, and I felt the Palisade was significantly narrow in leg width room vs the Telluride as I test drove them.

Both are basically priced the same for a fully loaded model and I could’ve driven off with a Palisade the same day, but I felt the T-ride was worth the wait.

Good to hear your wait time is only 6 weeks! Definitely worth the wait! The Dune brown should be beautfull......I'm happy with the Nappa black, but would have ordered the Dune if I had the chance......dealer had a fully loaded black/copper SX with black Nappa in the "pipeline" so I took it.

Hello fellow Jerseyite/ Telluride owner! We need a Kia salute to each other on the Parkway 😆

Just picked up my T-ride yesterday.....WOW!!! Took it for a spin with the wife and our son after I got home and they really liked it.

a little background and to answer a few ?s that were posted.....

- my lease on my GMC Canyon was due in mid Feb. Have leased the last 6 cars and wanted a really nice vehicle, so was looking to possible buy for the first time in 20 years.

- paid MSRP, before they raised the prices in early January. I never bought a car @ MSRP, but i also understand supply and demand.

- got it at Kia Bridgewater in NJ (closest one by my house)

- I highly recommend them, the service @ Kia Bridgewater was top notch. I went to a Kia dealership in PA weeks before the one in Bridgewater and they were charging $5K over MSRP so I never test drove it till Kia Bridgewater

- I got VERY lucky. The sales manager told me 4 SXs arrived on Thursday. 3 were ordered by customers 4 months ago. The dealership ordered the one I got. For me, it was a case of being there at the perfect time. 5:30pm on New Years Eve (30 minutes before they closed), they had an EX, they let me drive it on my own (the only dealership to do that on the countless of SUVs I test drove for the last 3 months). I loved it. We sat down. He looked at what was coming in the future. He mentioned there was a Ebony with Dune Brown, I wanted black interior but beggars can be choosers. Put a $500 deposit and the rest of history.

- The sales manager knows the T-rides are being ridiculously charged over MSRP, but he indicated they do not because they want to build relationships with new owners and make them repeated customers...they definitely achieved that with me.

- Btw, before I left with my new T-ride the sales manager said Kia told them to tell customers that it will now take 6 months to get them....Wow....as I said I got really lucky..if not..I would most likely be leasing a Subaru Ascent.

Hope this helps, enjoy your T-rides, and happy hunting...

I also got my Telluride from Bridgewater in NJ. Mine was back in June and was also a case of being in the right place at the right time. They were doing MSRP at that point too and pointed out they don't go over MSRP even though they knew other dealers were.

The drawback is their dealership needs a facelift. Going to the waiting room for service is like going into grandma's attic.

Service was fine, only been there once for oil change and the seatbelt recall. Just the waiting room is a throwback and lacks amenities you normally see in more modern dealerships, like drinks and snacks.
