I had my appointment today, got told - after waiting over an hour - that the technician wouldn’t even test drive the vehicle to assess the vibration unless I put the factory wheels and tires back on or it wouldn’t be covered by the warranty. Because the wheels and tires are aftermarket, and because I went from the stock 245/50s to a 255/50 tire. Sold the stock stuff weeks ago…Another update:
Took the vehicle back to service center. Service rep and mechanic have been great.
Kia still giving them the run around about checking tires and comparing tires/wheels to another Telluride on the lot.
Earlier today the engineers from tech line ask them to balance my wheels again and then compare them to a brand new Telluride and see how the specs differ. After a bunch of push back from myself and the service rep they finally escalated the case to a field technician so they're flying an engineer out here from California.
I understand that hesitation and trying to check the boxes within reason for not wanting to just jump right in and replace every and any warranty part complained about, but some of this is just been silly with the junk that they wanted them to test with us knowing very well with the issues.
Fingers crossed now the field technician will give us the green light to replace the appropriate parts.
