In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I finally found a dealer that would sell me a Telluride at MSRP. I bought a white EX Premium (not nightfall). Im driving 5 hours to pick it up on Saturday.

I've been researching for months, so I was very comfortable buying based on window sticker, but now I'm realizing that I haven't seen a 2021 EX Premium. My expectation is that it will have the same 20" wheels as the 2020 S, but now im second guessing.

Does anyone have a 2021 EX premuim picture?

Thanks!

Yes - I believe the the EX premium has the same wheels as the S. At least it does KIA's website when you select that option.

Post some pictures on Saturday...thanks!

Picture a 2020 EX Premium and then swap out the headlights for the SX LED headlights. That’s it!

Here’s one, but not in white, unfortunately.

One thing I realized with the EX is if you get the Premium and the Nightfall package, it’s like you are paying for 20” wheels twice. Not so great...

I didn't realize they upgraded the EX headlights on the 2021. That's exciting.

Yes - you get the LED headlights and amber day time running lights from the SX but not the fog lights. Fog lights are a stand alone option on the EX.

Honestly, mostly just the flash of the SX. My must haves were the captain seats and larger screen. But I made the mistake of sitting in an SX nightfall and it was super nice.

Well, after awhile you wouldn’t notice the flash, but you would notice the extra 10K you had to spend! You DID get the SX lights, which are probably its most important and practical feature. Also, it drives exactly the same as the SX.

Where are you getting $10K? If I price an EX with the premium package on KIA's website I get $39,085 (which he has based on the upgraded headlights). The SX starts at $42,190. That is a difference of $3,105. Priced them both without AWD since it is a stand alone option on both. For the $3,105 you get the following over the EX with premium package:

- Black wheels with upgraded Michelin tires
- LED Fog lamps
- Reverse tilt down side mirrors
- Dual Sunroofs
- Harman Kardon Stereo Upgrade
- High Beam Assist
- Blind Spot View Monitor - with upgraded dash display
- Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror w/ HomeLink
- 12-Way Power-Adjustable Driver's Seat, w/ 2-Way Power Lumbar Support
- Driver's Seat Integrated Memory System
- Stainless-Steel Pedals
- Front Parking Distance Warning
- Surround View Monitor
- Memory Seats

You don't have to get the prestige package to get a ton of content for only $3K. Not trying to give buyers remorse - but more of a question on your $10K comment. While I ordered an SX with the prestige package - the standard SX trim is a huge deal over the EX. Tons of content - for a relatively small price increase. Even if you throw in the Nightfall Package - you are still less than a $5K price difference.

While I appreciate KIA offering the LED headlamps on a lower trim for safety reasons - the price difference for an EXP versus SX seems really close. Why not just get the SX? I guess it would add around $60/month to your five year note - and that might be a deal breaker for some. But I think I would go out to eat one less time per month to have the SX. But that is just me.

I believe high beam assist is now included on EX - Premium package as HBA comes along with the LED headlights. That's not clear on the KIA build, but was listed in the 2021 model info materials.

Your post might have convinced me to consider the SX for the first time. I knew the price deltas and feature differences, but upgrading sounds more reasonable when I read your post!

If the LED headlights were a stand alone option at, say, $650-850, I'd not waver from an EX. I don't see almost $5,000 in "value" for the SX over the EX. I much prefer both a bench second row and the 18" EX wheels to the S/EX-P 20" wheels. Getting the EX-P just for the LED headlights effectively makes them a $1,700 option and forces me to give up features that I prefer

OTOH, I really like the SX wheels and begrudgingly admit the captain's chairs can be occasionally useful. I absolutely can see $3,000 in "value" for the upgrades you listed.

I'm a future EXer with premium package and I've gotta say that going up to SX has crossed my mind a few times because the price isn't too far off.

I'm really only interested in a few of the additional features though. Mood lighting, fog lights and memory seats (the freakin Pilot EX has those, come on Kia...) I like the black wheels but only on white and moss. I'm getting black and the silver/chrome to black ratio is off on black SXs. Also, the black wheels are more work to keep clean.

The biggest thing that turns me off to SX is all the added electronics. Extra cameras and parking sensors, no thanks... That stuff is great while it's working but I'm not sure how much I trust Kia's electronics, these things could turn into money pits down the road.

Having said all that, if I were trading a car in I'd probably go with an SX-P with dune brown seats but as it stands, just buying an extra car, the EX-P is at the top end of what I want to spend.

Hey Marc: My apologies to ScottR up front but I do think the SX provides a lot of value and cool options for the money. And I would absolutely purchase a loaded SX rather than pile a bunch of options on the EX. But if you look at the cost of the SX-P-NE over a standard EX, that is quite a difference. Using your figures 3,100+2,300+1,295 is $6,695. Add tax to that and it’s somewhere in the mid $7,000 range. 7K more for a car that drives exactly the same as the EX! Now I don’t know about Texas, but where I live in AZ, they tax you every year on the value of your car! It’s depreciated every year, but the higher the starting price, the more you pay. So I would be paying tax every year on all those added SX options...which sucks. I did change my order from an SX-P to a regular EX for two main reasons: I really want a pickup truck-like bed in the back of my SUV, and the so-called “bench seat” provides that without the big hole in the middle for the Captain’s chairs. Also, I do not want a panoramic sunroof...makes the car too hot in Phoenix and my kids could care less, they just want to see their devices without any extra glare...ha ha!
Back to your original point, yes, you could get an SX over an EX-P for around 3 grand...but why wouldn’t you get the prestige package for a fully-loaded luxury sled for only 2,300 more? You did...LOL! So that’s 5,300...plus taxes—almost 6K. I thought the SX-NE (Prestige?) that Scott was looking at would be marked up. Sounds like he had to pull some teeth to get that EX-P at MSRP. And you know how car dealers are, they are more than happy to give you what you want at the last minute, but you will pay dearly for it. So I thought my 10K figure would be in the ballpark for the markup they would charge.
