• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello All,

I am potential new owner close to pulling the trigger on the 2021 Kia Telly SX Prestige AWD. I have a couple of questions, that I either can't find the info on, or the info is vague.

1) As far as the headlights, are the a fixed position or are they "steerable" meaning, as you go around the corner the headlights will angle themselves in that direction?
2) For the rear view mirror, does it have an integrated digital view of what is in behind the vehicle? For instance, my wife's 2019 Subaru Ascent's rear view mirror, when you pull it downward it displays in the mirror a digital view of what is behind the vehicle. This is useful when you have the vehicle loaded causes a obstruction to what is seen in the "normal" or non-digital view of the mirror.
3) Do the side mirrors fold when the car is parked?
4) Besides, aesthetics (Nightfall Edition), are there any mechanical or other notable improvements to the 2021 Kia Telly SX Prestige AWD?

Thanks everyone for looking at my question and hopefully answering them!

Eric

1. No (fixed)
2. No (just a standard mirror)
3. Yes
4. The Prestige package is indistinguishable from a regular SX from the outside. The only features it adds are on the interior.

The Nightfall package is a blackout package available on any AWD SX or EX Premium.

1. No
2. No
3. Automatic, unfold and light up as you approach.
4.autostart on the fob, auto seat ventilation/heating with autostart. 2 biggies for me!

*and* they auto tilt down when in reverse, one of the coolest features I noticed during a test drive :)

If you are asking about improvements from 2020 SXP model, I think they changed the 2nd row captain chair armrest and updated the heating systems in the SXP AWD. Of course remote start. Don’t think anybody has compered the armrests in person to definitively say what the differences are.

If you are asking what additional features you get in an SX or SXP versus other trims, there are many. Most of them are listed on Kia’s website. Some aren’t mentioned like the auto heated/vented seats as Cheryl mentioned.

I think my biggest disappointment is the lack of the digital rear view mirror. I wish there was a workaround or aftermarket replacement.

If you are concerned about what is behind you the turn signals could be turned on so you would get that view in the instrument cluster

I can understand wanting this in a car where it is hard to see out the back...like a Corvette. However, this is a SUV with a huge rear window.

Until you give it everything, meaning tall cargo, and you can't see out the rear window. This is not an unusual use case. The disappointment here is that competitor vehicles have this safety feature. Specifically his wife's Ascent has the first 2 features he is asking about.

So you turn on the backup camera. What's the difference of it being on the 8/10.5" display vs a tiny display in the mirror?

Can you turn it on going forward? The Ascent has a second rear camera specifically for the rearview mirror camera.

No but you can engage the 360 view if equipped.

Well I am glad someone finally found a reason they don’t want to buy a Telluride. That is one more Telly out there for the rest of us!

Don't get me wrong, I am not completely ruling out the Telly. It was just some differences I noticed.
Of course, when I am ready to buy, the GV80* will be out (hopefully), and that may be just the ticket for me.
Or....
It may be forever before the GV80 comes out, then its a moot point.

*Yes - I know the GV80 is a more expensive vehicle.

How is blocking your back window with stuff any different than towing something big? That camera won't help there. Use the side mirrors to see behind you. Seems to have worked for 100 years or so.

Just another camera to replace down the road as well.

So touchy about any negative comments about your vehicle. Not every vehicle is perfect. I kind find plenty of of threads related to short-comings with towing and remote start as well; do you get worked about negative comments on those as well?
