• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2021 Telluride Detailing Thread

Can anyone suggest a brush to clean the black plastic trim areas around the bottom of the Telluride? Looking for something not too harsh. Any suggestions for cleaning it would be appreciated, thanks !

I use a microfiber mitt. I use a different colored one than I use on the paint so I don't get them mixed up. Microfiber Wash Mitts, Set of 2

Anyone ever try this stuff for the dark exterior plastic trim pieces?

I'm going to order some and try them out.

If you want to see how they perform, check out this video:

Looks legit. I'm actually gonna ceramic coat the trim and my side steps as a project this summer...one step closer to ceramic coating the actual vehicle which I don't think I'm capable of yet.

With your detailing prowess, you are more than capable.

Hi all! Would you add on the Ultimar (sp?) coating offered at the dealership or is finding someone local is better? I plan on add PPF on the front sides, but what about the ceramic coating? Worth it? Or just a good waxing every so often is good? Thanks in advance!

What about when it’s really dirty, especially behind the wheels, don’t I need something a little more abrasive to loosen the road dirt? Any brushes anyone recommends?

I have PPF on the front end. I want to apply 303 graphene nano spray coating in the spring after a good wash and clay.

Can I apply the graphene coating on the PPF sections? Not sure it makes sense.

I believe you can. I think they officially recommend confirming with your PPF manufacturer.

I think you will get varying opinions on this. I’d say it’s what you are most comfortable with in terms of budget and what you think will work best for you given how frequently you wash your car, etc. For me, PPF is most useful and where I am spending my money. I wash my car nearly weekly, so I applied a graphene coating for protection, gloss, and hydrophobic properties. These type products are typically easy to apply. The 303 graphene I used can even be applied in full sun. I’ll have to reapply in a year or less, but it was worth it to me because the PPF is where I’ll get the most protection, so that’s where I’m spending my money. I’m getting that done on the 19th and I’m excited. Trying to be careful to avoid any chips until then.

I have not heard of the coating you mentioned, so I don’t really have advice there.

Never get any coatings from a dealership. If serious about detailing don't even let them wash it before delivery!

Yes you can put a ceramic coating on top of PPF. It's actually recommended for easier car washing.

OR

You can get get PPF and just apply a spray type coating/quick detailer such as one mentioned by @Jpzy17
