• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2021 Telluride Detailing Thread

I'll warn you though...my new Telly and ceramic coating have really opened me up to car detailing. Lovely hobby but like anything else it's getting expensive!
YOU are a detailing wizard! I'm not really built that way. But we shall see!

Thank you but I am far from it - just learning on the fly from other detailing forums and helping guide our fellow members in this thread.

Figure I can help guide folks from the stuff im learning from watching Pan late at night - ha!

Yup. You do all the work and we get all the benefits!

I'm working piece by piece on building this setup:

Again....I've lost my damn mind but I never realized how much car detailing was in my wheelhouse. Gives me an outlet for some of my OCD tendencies.

The application starts at 6:25. The beginning is just cleaning the seats which is very important before any ceramic applications. I used the cleaner in the kit.

Check that video out. This stuff is extremely forgiving meaning that the high spots or places you applied too much are easy to "knock down".
A nice find! However, do we still use this on the sx-p, given it's not really leather?

Are you saying the Nappa leather in the SXP is synthetic? Or is it real leather with a heavy vinyl topcoat which is more common with "real leathers"...

Either way IGL leather is safe on all real or synthetic leathers.

I really have no clue if it's real leather. I just assumed most leathers these days are not real leather. I really have no clue.

I was legit asking if you had any idea because I think this debate came up in another thread. From my understanding it's real leather.

Haven’t needed it yet, but I’m wondering what everyone’s favorite bug/tar remover is? I have used Turtle Wax’s product in the past but just curious if anyone uses anything better.

Yes, the EX and SX have real leather, and Nappa leather is an upgrade in the SX. I was initially confused because Kia uses an unusual (to me) window sticker which shows (in the case of the EX) the LX features on the left (synthetic leather) and then on the right the "upgrades" on the EX (leather).

These days, most modern car leather (especially the lower grades like the standard Kia leather) is coated. This means a conditioner won't penetrate and thus is not useful. For the Telluride, I'm using Leather Mast_er's cleaner and leather protection cream, but not their conditioner. (I put the underscore in the word "master" because it did not clear the "inappropriate content" filter...😂

Just picked up my car after the ceramic (including paint correction). Looks fantastic. Windows as well as body. I have a five-year warranty with annual inspection and touch ups. They also polished out some ugly scratches I had in the driver side window posts, which I have no idea how I acquired.

Some pics here - though pics don't really do it justice. It shines like a diamond! Excuse the shitty winter rims (I should probably get something nicer, as winter is long here!).

Looking good!! Enjoy your first wash. It's quite a delight on a coated vehicle.

I'm under strict instructions not to wash for two weeks....Then, all good. I'm curious to see how much of the usual mud and dirt sticks from my daily country and construction-route commute. Looking forward to washing after that!

all of that stuff will stick to it without a doubt - the ease of it coming off is the best part. By the time I'm done with my original power wash the vehicle usually looks 95% clean. It's pretty cool.

I like the state trooper look! Looks like you are getting ready to pull someone over. I usually get snow tires for my SUV's. How the driving been with dedicated snows? Do you use the winter driving mode or diff lock? Winters here have been relatively mild in W PA although this year seems worse then previous. I do like the feeling of snows on an SUV, feel like you car get anywhere!

It's been a mild winter here in Ontario so far, and I've left the mode on comfort. Have only had one snowy drive, put it in snow mode, and off I went. I still drive carefully in the snow, though. Not one of those winter AWD warriors who end up in the ditch! I haven't used diff lock yet.

I absolutely love dedicated snows. Wouldn't do it any other way. These are on 18 inch rims and higher profile tires, obv. That's my preference for snows.

I've always used cheap rims for my snows. Maybe I'll keep it up! It does look a bit trooperish.

So beautiful!

Hope you get yours soon!
Thanks, I contacted my dealer today and they said that I don't have a VIN number assigned yet... Hoping that doesn't mean that my delivery will be delayed...
