• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2021 Telluride Detailing Thread

Thanks, I contacted my dealer today and they said that I don't have a VIN number assigned yet... Hoping that doesn't mean that my delivery will be delayed...
Boo. I don't have any experience with those kinds of timelines. I admire your patience though, that's for sure!

VIN's usually pop up on Failcat 4-6 weeks before delivery. I'd expect to see your VIN show up soon.

Let the project begin!

Installed a dedicated 20amp outlet in the garage for the AR Blue as it rips 18-19amps with ease.

Plumber is coming next week to add a Prier True Temp hydrant (hose bib) in my garage. I'm excited for that as I can do hot water pressure washes in the winter time melting that road salt with ease (and efficiency saving water).

Just an FYI for those who follow Obsessed Garage and have thought about buying or recreating his sweet at home pressure washing kit...here's a hint you can get most of that stuff from Kleen Rite and if you guys are really interested I'll share links of where I bought everything.

Also once COVID is over any of the local members can come wash their vehicles in my bay - just bring your own products 🙂

@Angel1013 I'll detail the exterior of your Telluride if you come to my place in Jersey and help me install the exhaust!

I’m planning on getting my Telly SX ceramic coated in the next few weeks at a local detailer. They use GTechniq Ultra. I saw the YouTube on the other thread and it seems to be holding up well and the things I’ve read online seem positive. Does anyone on here have any experience or opinions on this product?

Thanks, I forgot to check to see if there any models scheduled for my dealer. Hope it shows up soon...

I've heard good things about that one. It all comes down to paint prep and application of the product.

In my opinion IGL, CQuartz and GTechniq all have solid coatings.

The quoted price ($1500) does include 1 step paint correction and it’s one of the better detailers in my area, so I have confidence in their application abilities.

Send pics once it's done!

see my post regarding another forum user's own detailing story

Any downside to ceramic - other than cost?

I'm under strict instructions not to wash for two weeks....Then, all good. I'm curious to see how much of the usual mud and dirt sticks from my daily country and construction-route commute. Looking forward to washing after that!
Looks fantastic!! I have the same ceramic coating. Would recommend, if needing to use automatic car washes, only get the basic...wash and rinse... forego the added waxes/sealants. It’s cheaper, and, for what I was told, can impact the ceramic coating over time.

Which pressure washer did you buy?

Just wanted to share some initial thoughts regarding the various products included in the WeatherTech TechCare Exterior Wash & Wax kit I received for Christmas:

* Gentle Car Shampoo is super thick/concentrated. A little goes a long way. It doesn't even pour out of the bottle, just barely creeps out like a traditional molasses, thick syrup or honey. Worked like a charm on the dirt that mostly built up on the sides of the Telly.

* Acid-free Wheel Cleaner = amazing. Spray a generous amount on your wheels then let it sit and do the work for a few minutes before rinsing off the wheels/brake components. I probably should have done this somewhere else besides the driveway of my parents' house. I had to hose off the driveway a few times, a.k.a. the "wash after the wash" :ROFLMAO:

* Exterior Glass Cleaner with Repel: basically Windex+. Works as advertised.

* Tire Gloss = excellent, lasted longer than I was expecting too.

* Wax-Prep Clay Gel Cleaner: First time I ever tried clay, seemed to work.

* Carnauba Gel Wax: Wow! Where has this been all my life?

The rest of the kit:
  • 1 - Soaker - imported (read the instructions, it needs to be pre-washed before using and kept damp in container when not in use, no drying/air drying)
  • 1 - Super White Microfiber Cleaning Cloth (Package of 4) - imported (worked well)
  • 1 - Microfiber Finishing Cloth & Quick Detailer (Package of 2) - imported (love these)
  • 1 - Microfiber Waffle Weave Drying Towel - imported (I want to get more of these)
  • 1 - TechCare Microfiber Applicator Pad (Package of 2) - imported (did their job)
Verdict: Awesome + easy to use.

*My Telly does not have the 5-year ceramic coating or any PPF.

This photo is taken right after the wash & dry, pre-clay, pre-wax:
