+1. Paint needs to be 90-95% (or more if you’re gonna go wild) defect free BEFORE PPF and coating. There’s really no “new” car delivered that’s upwards of 95% defect free, unless it’s an exotic, and even then it will need correction still. Factory paint finishers have to do a bunch of cars a day so they spend maybe five minutes on a car (if that) identifying defects and “correcting”. Then transportation, unless in an enclosed trailer (not the telluride), is hell on a car even when it’s all wrapped up. Then dealer prep and “detailers” just run a quick buff and lather the crap out of the interior in greasy armor all.The answer is 100% yes. The PPF is locking in the swirls and paint imperfections. Find another detailer.
find another place that will properly inspect and at least do a light correction where needed before PPF and ceramic is applied.
