• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I am having the an issue with my 2021 Telluride. At highway speeds the window will not roll up unless you slow down or do a work around. Took it to the dealer and they also were able to replicate the problem. The Dealer called Kia tech line said it is operating as designed. I have video of the window closing and the window flexes enough that it does not roll up correctly in the window gasket the it thinks there is a pinched finger and rolls down. I also called Kia Customer service and they say this is not a "safety" problem. I disagree when traveling at highway speeds the last thing you want to do is mess around or slow down to get the window closed. I am going to file a complaint with the NHTSA and see if it will help. Anyone had any success with an actual fix not a workaround?

I posted about this myself a while back. Had this exact issue while driving to a photo shoot with my son. His window would not roll up and stay up at 70MPH. We pulled over and stopped and were able to get the window up. I agree that it could be a saftey issue. I've not heard of this happening on the rear windows (not saying it can't happen, just that I've not heard of it)

Yes, for us its the two front windows.

This is a combination of two things:

Physics (this can happen with high speeds or with extremely high winds and moderate speed) and Design

I like that Kia smartly designed these power window motors/sensors to release and back off a few centimeters when encountering an obstruction/misalignment.

These power window motors/sensors are a significant improvement over those installed in cars from over 20 years ago that can cut off circulation, crush bones, and amputate fingers and hands.

But maybe that's just me.

Ever had a finger or hand caught in a door or window of an older model car that doesn't have this safety feature?

The solution is simple and DIY and doesn't require a trip to any service department.

#1 Slow down.
#2 Up the window.
#3 Sport Mode
#4 Floor the pedal 🤣

It is not fixable. You were rightly told that this is the norm for telluride - this is design. Telluride has terrible aerodynamics due to its shape. The vortices create overpressure inside and out of the area in front of the vehicle. You tried to open the window at high speed - it looks like an explosive de-germitization (we call it that in aviation). As you wrote above, you need to equalize the pressure difference - slow down or open the sunroof, close the windows, close the sunroof.

It will be necessary to ask for a Kia, add this algorithm to the instruction manual.🤣
