• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2022 Telluride hard seats?

It may work but basically removing the heating and cooling features of the seats. Seating is such a subjective issue and there is no right or wrong for the individual. Almost the same as a beds mattress! I'm going to chalk it up to you can make a $50k SUV feel close to an $80k SUV, but unfortunately not exactly. The choice of interior trim material and Seating material comfort disappoints just a bit.

Why? I would think this is a problem for thin people since we have little cushions of our own 😀. Just got back from a 9 hrs drive and decided to get extra buffers. It was so unbearable I had to use a fold blanket to ease the pain. To be honest, if had sat in my Mazda that long it probably would be the same.

Will see if this help.

@Amati5 ...what color is your interior?

I’m not having a problem with hardness in the SX but I’m used to my Pilot where my knees were raised a bit more. Nothing to do about that at the moment so I’m going to see if I just get used to it. Will be driving over 700 miles the next week. Also have heard that the Nappa seats in the SXP are even harder? Stay tuned.

I have a '22 SX with regular leather, only a single 100+ trip, my butt was fine but my back started to hurt, I eased up on the lumbar support and It helped.

I love the Telly, my wife even more, but the seats are hard, my Ford Flex Limited was far more comfortable on long trips.

Anyone that is using cushions seeing issues with airbag(s) being disabled as a result?

1 month with my new Telly SX and 1500 miles. I’ve totally gotten used to the seats.
I think they do take a bit to “break in”.

My new 2022 Kia Telluride EX has very uncomfortable seats. I bought a pair of Lofty Aim seat cushions and the comfort is greatly improved.

Lofty Aim Premium Car Seat Cushion, Driver Seat Cushion with Comfort Memory Foam & Non-Slip Rubber Bottom with Storage Pouch

After a 1400 mile road trip/sitting in the car for 23 hours. I find the Telluride SX's seats quite hard. Not a huge fan of the lumbar support and amount of cushion. Wrapped up a 4750 mile/98 hours in the car roadtrip with my Sportage SX and the seats are significantly better. Much better level of cushion and lumbar support.

Having the same issue with my SX. 1-2 hours and I get pretty uncomfortable. Going to try a memory foam cushion. I've had some luck with adjusting the angle of the seat to change things up.

Just returned from a 600+ mile camping trip towing our camper. My wife complained that the passenger seat is too hard especially sitting that long. She just got a custom seat cushion that we hope works. Have another long camping trip coming up in January.
The seat cushion works for my wife, but: the heating/colling feature is now compromised AND the airbag sensor is disabled when the cushion is used. I don't understand why the airbag sensor would be affected as I thought it would be triggered by weight. A potentially serious engineering fallacy.

P.S. Napa dune brown leather. It does seem harder than I would have expected for a "premium" feature

This cushion looks like it fits the seat well - where did you find it?

Amazon, but there are many like it. I returned it due to lack of cushion. Shopping for these things are not easy. The ones that look good and feel more natural usually don’t have enough support, the thicker ones make you feel floaty on the seat. Many of them are not long or wide enough to let you sink into the seat. I kind of gave up until I saw this thing (below) on sale for cheap. It’s no longer available but there many others of same design. It feels overall better and let you feel the seat’s heat/cold feature. I haven’t had a need to use it much, just store it in the back for use as needed.
The best solution I had when I first experienced the pain was to fold a blanket 4 times and put it over the seat which helped relieve the pain 90% and more importantly, you still feel you are in the seat, just a little higher. If you can put up with the look 😀

If this isn’t to work well, I would consider getting a thick yoga mat and cut to shape to cover the whole seat. I think yoga mats have the perfect density and thin enough.

It's sad to pay $52000.00 for a SUV and have seats that SUCK!!!

The seats are't terrible, just could be better. Finished a long trip in my wifes Q5 and the seats are so much better. Better lumbar support, the telluride's pretty much a joke since you can't adjust the position along with no passenger ability. I can actually feel the springs in the seats with my back at certain angles. It wouldn't make me not buy the car, but definitely not a strong point. Again, this car can't tick every box.

I honestly can't complain. While my base Ford Explorer with cloth seats did feel a bit more cushiony, the Telluride's SXP nappa leather feel fine to me. I drove 6 hours (about 376 miles) in them from eastern CT to central PA with no discomfort. But each person has their own level of comfort and preferences.

I have an SX with the butterscotch leather (not the upgraded Napa) and I find the seats perfectly comfortable. Full disclosure, I'm only about 155 lbs soaking wet). When I drove my Telly 10 hours back from the Texas dealer to New Mexico, I was amazed at how good I felt during the drive.

Ugh. Wish I had gone with the butterscotch and not the napa dune brown
