• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Welcome. Moving this out of the forum lounge and into the Telluride suspension section.

Funny you should ask! Monday I took my wife’s 21 T to a dealer for a Rear suspension issue. I very rarely drive her vehicle and when I did I believed it thumped over expansion joints in the freeway more than my maximum towing equipped F150. I checked the tire pressure and found it at about 35 psi. My wife never noticed the thumping until I brought it up And she then thought the same thing. Duh!

I‘ve used the T to tow about a 2400 lb trailer for less than 20 mi twice and didn’t find any fault. However, I went to tow the same load again and the experience was totally different. The T made very loud thumping noises and you could feel vibration coming through the console.

I talked to my selling dealers Service Manager and he said he has not seen any T’s with suspension issues. B.S! So I made an appointment with a different dealer and took it in. They gave me the dreaded, “Unfounded” and could not duplicate statements BUT, we’re still interested in solving my concerns. They already had different techs and the service manager drive the T.

I asked if I brought the T back the next day pulling the trailer if they would ride with me And they agreed. The dealer then assigned a different tech for “fresh ears“ and we went for a drive. After a short distance and discussion he agreed that it seems like the shocks were not rebounding properly because I told him of my previous two times I used the T to tow And there was now a change but the vibration occurs mostly on rougher streets that were not available in the area we were driving. We went a little farther and did get the thumping noice and harsh ride on a slightly rougher road. They decided to order replacement self adjusting shocks. The problem is they don’t know how long it will take to get the parts because they have to come from KIA. I’m not sure if he meant KIA, Korea, or KIA, USA.

Whatever, the dealers willingness to continue to investigate the issue was impressive. Whether this solves the issue remains to be seen.

I also got a surprise regarding the original inspection. The service writer explained to me that KIA only pays for tightening loose fasteners if the factory installed hitch or shocks were loose for the first 12,000 mi or 1 year. My SX AWD T currently has 6500 mi and is over 11 months since delivery. Original dealer never mentioned this Warranty difference.
