I read the 2023 models have a setting to disable the feature that PLAGUES previous years which is to dim the ambient lighting when you shift out of park.
Is this true?
Is this true?
Seems like a little bit of an exaggeration. It’s ambient light. It’s for the background, not taking over and lighting up the interior.that PLAGUES previous years
Ambient lighting is SX and up only.but cannot confirm if lower trims EX and below also have ambient lighting and this feature.
Not really a bonus, that’s always been there on 2020-22 SX models. The 23's also have a bonus single light strip a little bit above the glove box.
Do you mine posting a picture of the setting on your infotainment screen?Hi @Lakaiguy yes, the 23's you can keep the brightness at a 10 and turn off "dim after shifting from park". I have an SXP X-PRO but cannot confirm if lower trims EX and below also have ambient lighting and this feature. The 23's also have a bonus single light strip a little bit above the glove box.
Not really an exaggeration, even Kia realized the dimming when shifting to park was silly because they fixed it for the 23s.Seems like a little bit of an exaggeration. It’s ambient light. It’s for the background, not taking over and lighting up the interior.
I don’t have a light there eitherIs something wrong with my ambient lighting? I have a 2023 SXP X-Pro and I wonder if one of my ambient / mood light strips is functioning or not. In all the videos I've seen for previous model years, there is a light strip above the buttons just to left of the steering wheel. That area does not light up in my vehicle. See picture below and the arrow I added for the spot I am referring to. Can anyone with a MY2023 confirm whether this area is supposed to light up?
