• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2023 Kia Telluride Discussion

Welcome back onboard ! The Telluride is tough competition!
Thank you @hamride !!! It's wild, I'm coming out of a 73k MDX Type S Advance and cannot wait to be back in a Telluride. For a mid size SUV the Telluride is easily best in class and even better than several luxury mid size SUV's. The MDX has the handling and power plant edge for sure, but the KIA wins in almost every other category. Thank you for the welcome back!

I have an order for a SX X-Line White with Terracotta. It was originally a 2022 order placed in early February. As of two weeks ago I was told I was #140 in line an hopefully will get filled in a couple of months.

How would you compare the third row and storage, MDX vs. Telly?

Buyers of X-PRO models, are you planning to switch 18" wheels to 20" wheels? I got 2022 EX with 18" wheels. Recommendation is to upgrade to 20" wheels for better handling. Do not know why KIA gave 18" wheels for most expensive trim.
I'm staying with the 18" rims. I Like the look and more tire cushion. The suspension on these VEHICLES and the way they are driven I seriously believe you would not see much difference. Go with the ones that looks best to you. You'll be happy.

I have a 14 mdx advance and am excited to get a telluride. The infotainment new mdx system stinks. That is why we are not getting another one.

The X-Pro is supposed to be their off road capable model. 18” all terrain makes more sense than 20’s for that purpose. If you don’t like the 18” and don’t need the extra 500 lbs for towing, just buy the X-Line.

I don't know why a 2023 car costing 50k only comes with wired Android Auto. It makes the wireless charger almost pointless. Very disappointing.

It reportedly involves a contractual dispute with the device manufacturers and the navigation provider, or something along those lines. It’s not because Kia can’t or won’t provide it (they can and have in the past). I suspect it will come via system update in the future.

You can go to the dealers tab at the top and search.

It may be unfortunate and disappointing, but it is pretty easily resolved with a <$100 adapter.

Also note that many implementations of wireless CarPlay and Android Auto on stock systems are reasonably buggy at best and borderline unusable at worst, at least from what I’ve heard and read about with any of the 8” Hyundai/Kia systems that have wireless CP/AA. So be careful what you’re wishing for. Both of the last two updates to the display audio 2.0 (non-navigation) system were specifically to fix connectivity issues with wireless CP/AA. And the most recent one still didn’t necessarily fix the issues, based on what I’ve seen.

And remember that not everyone uses CP/AA every day (or even at all). Bluetooth audio (with album art displayed on the screen) and the stock nav (if even needed at all) work just fine, especially day-to-day for all or most people. I love my CPlay2Air adapter to get wireless CarPlay, but for the last several months, I haven’t even bothered to have it plugged in because I got a little annoyed when it would occasionally take way too long to connect or would sometimes just not do anything until I unplugged it and plugged it back in. So I‘ve just been using bluetooth going to work and driving around town. It connects quickly and works reliably. That’s all I need.

Don’t forget that some incredibly expensive new electric cars (Tesla, Rivian, etc) come without CarPlay or Android Auto support at all. So at least you have it.

How would you compare the third row and storage, MDX vs. Telly?
The 3rd row is usable but not even as close to the roominess that the Telluride offers. In the MDX you have to roll the front seats and 2nd row seat forward just to make the 3rd row use acceptable. Storage is also tighter in the MDX as well, but it's a much more streamlined design and less boxy design so that does make sense. The Telluride is 196.9 inches long, and the 22 MDX is 198.4 inches long. The Kia has a total passenger volume of 178.1 cubic feet, while MDX EPA passenger volume of 139.1 cubic feet. The Kia feels so spacious in comparison, the MDX feels very cramped overall.

It seems they are building six XPRO to one XLINE right now, crazy... I just don't want this order to take another 6-8 months

Wolf Gray and Terracota are X-line colors. So it means EX X-line can have this color combination as well?

Absolutely.
This completely changed my assumption of "I have to buy SX only". Now, I highly consider EX with X-line. The EX only wheels look ugly to me.

Out of curiosity I looked at the 2023 Carnival. There are really good features on the SX Prestige that I don't think the Telluride has. For example it has solar heat reducing windows to keep the car cooler. I know it's apples to oranges on other features and especially looks, but the SXP Carnival is 5K less than the equivalent Telluride!

👍 If we didn’t need the towing capacity, the Carnival would be our top choice.

Has anyone ordered an SX xpro non prestige? I’ve been trying to get my sales rep to give me a final price since the weekend and now he emails me that he’s not able to order anything but SXP X-Line and SXP X-pro’s.
