• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2023 Kia Telluride Discussion

Then I don't understand your previous post. You said that your wife "wants to wait and build a telluride she loves." That implied to me that you hadn't ordered one yet. Are you saying that you did order a Telluride nine months ago, and after a 2022 failed to materialize, you're now looking forward to the new features of the 2023, so you're just going to wait for that?

In any event, you're displaying far more patience with the process than I would in these circumstances.
That is correct, put our deposit down on 12/5/21. Was starting to get cold feet and ready to jump to a palisade but hearing some excitement about the ‘23 Telly makes me want to stick it out. And then the fact that my wife likes it much more than the palisade and is ready to “build” a new one once the online build tool is refreshed.

They are not going to provide a BUILD website until they have all their ducks in a row. I suspect that the reason for no announcement or update is that they are having shortage of parts in West Point due to the supply chain shortage.

I thought so too but the 23 Palisade are already on the road, how would kia being a sister co. have shortage while hyundai not having the shortage

You are so lucky to get it in 2 months. Did you notice any difference between EX with 18" wheels vs other trims with 20" wheel. You probably test drove one with 20" wheels.
No, not really. I test drove several trims and personally, it wasn't a noticeable difference.

There is a big difference -- Palisade are assembled completely in Korea with Korean parts, therefore they ship over the Pacific as a complete car. Tellurides are assembled in Georgia. I can't remember the exact breakdown, but something like 60% American parts and 40% Korean.

Serial numbers haven't increased in Failcat since Wednesday 8/24 - so about a week. There have been additions during the week but probably just delayed stickers that Kia was behind on entering. So I believe this is the biggest sign that the switchover to 2023 is probably happening.

My sales rep texted me and said she believes we can start building the 2023s in October.. if the builder isn’t going to be available until then, i may just get a palisade at this rate..
Can anyone confirm this to be accurate? Another dealership told me October too for 2023 orders…

I have been told one year wait for 2023 Telly. That's doesn't cut it for me. Palisade. I would not even consider VW Atlas as some have done but that's just my opinion.

I had to get an oil change on our traverse yesterday… had the sweet sweet thoughts of Telluride SX and the new (hopeful) mahogany interior color. Insert Ron burgundy :ROFLMAO:

My guess is will be a nice Christmas present to the family

I placed an order on 8/2 but Kia didn’t pick it up, so I’m likely going to need to pick a new color since i chose Sangria. There were 20 people ahead of me waiting for their orders to get picked up at this dealership. I was told 8 months, but could be sooner. The dealer gets 6-10 tellurides a month it looks like on failcat.

I think it depends on how many people are ahead of you. It’s not going to take a year to build them. But if there are 100 people ahead and the dealer only gets 8 a month or so, could be a year wait.

Do keep in mind that Kia stated that with the MY2023 there will be a 20% increase in production.

Thanks for the feedback. Tire contact area is the same for both 18" vs 20" wheels. I ordered FWD. i think, you have AWD. I went with FWD but followed up with dealer to change it AWD later. There was discussion about vibrations with AWD. Thoese issues seem to went away with later builds. Dealer discouraged me to make changes to the order. I have to live with FWD now.

Couldn't tell from your replies if your order was for a Telluride and was picked up already or if you're in the queue or ordered a Palisade. If you're in the queue and it was for a Telluride, your dealer will have to rebuild the vehicle for 2023. Could be the time to update your selection.

I've been told July then August then September now October is when I can order. Putting a damper on the excitement. Especially since I'm also trying to make a vacation out of picking up the Telly. Doesn't sound fun in the middle of winter.

I think everyone is guessing. Kia is announcing the 2023 during the Emmys on 9/12. So I'd imagine builds should start pretty shortly before/after that date. I wouldn't panic yet!

I agree… if I at least knew the costs and options, i think I’d feel better about waiting another 5-6 weeks to order. However, being in the dark and just waiting is a bummer. I’m going to look at a Palisade this week likely.. however, I’m not nearly as into it as i am about the telluride so i guess i need to test my patience a little longer

On the bright side, if you get an order in October it likely wont' show up until after Feb, so probably won't be in the middle of winter :) (OK, maybe not so bright)

Worst timing ever. Dealership called me even though I haven't placed an order and have a 2022 Gravity Gray S that someone backed out on. With the improvements on the interior and not knowing the details with the new trims and colors, my heart is set on a 2023. The DRLs and exterior changes do not turn me off. Am I stupid to turn it down?

Nope. I would do the same.

If you are going for an S, I think the 2023 is going to be significantly better. You’ll have LED headlights, which might be the biggest upgrade of all. Plus you’ll have a bigger infotainment screen and a pseudo digital instrument cluster.
