• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just took my 2025 Telluride SX through the car wash (touchless) and got a bunch of DTCs for the trailer lights. Afterwards I checked the 7 pin connector and when I opened the cover a bunch of water poured out. The pins in my previous vehicle ended up rusting so badly they fell off and I would like to prevent that with this car. Any ideas or mods I could do to prevent it from filling with water? Or to drain water without me having to open the flap and shove a tissue in there?

I have the factory 7 pin cable. Probably the same 1 you have. Lead connector is no way watertight. What I did to mine after I mounted it was to go on the forward face again, whichh you would probably call the back end of the connector, and add a glob of clear silicon gasket trying to fill the gaps where the wire goes into the connector. Sorry to say I haven't inspected it yet but I would expect some improvement.

Regarding tissue, absolutely not. The additional paper will hold the water in there, keeping it from draining or evaporating -- that would that would just accelerate any corrosion.
