• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Anyone notice the A/C compressor is rather noisy when engaged. I get a distinct whining/revving noise when increasing the engine revs. Turn the AC off and the engine is quiet. Engage the AC button noise comes back. Very annoying when driving around in city driving with the radio off. My Stinger is completely silent.

Regards

I have the same issue. I will be taking mine in soon to have it checked out soon. Let me know if you ever find a resolution.

I haven’t taken it in. I figured I would just wait until the first service. I don’t have a lot of faith in the dealership’s knowledge to troubleshoot a brand new model. I fully expect the response “it is supposed to sound that way”. My daughter’s Optima is quiet. My Stinger is quiet, the Sorento loaner I had was quiet. Let us know if you have any luck.

I am not too far from my first service, so I will let you know. Not that my dealer has more experience with them. They seem to like to say things like it is supposed to do that. Haha

Just take it in and insist upon having it repaired. Either the compressor is shot or the belt is out of adjustment.

I seem to have that problem myself it didn’t do it in the beginning and it’s only on acceleration I hear it. Mine still did it with air off.

Did anyone have any updates with this issue?

I have a 2021 SX and, as expected, dealership response was "we checked the air conditioner and it is operating as normal". I told him yes it's operating as normal but compressor whines are not normal. He replied "we checked it and it is operating as normal so there's nothing else we can do at this time".

I never had it diagnosed. I have just learned to live with it. It is a minor annoyance after 2 years. Doesn't seem quite as loud as it was when new. I have 15k miles on it now.

Thanks. I'm worried there could be pressure related issues causing the whine. At the very least, glad to hear yours didn't get any worse.

24' telly here. I'm actually noticing this too now. It's not really a bother i guess but didn't seem normal when I first heard it. How has it been up till now?
