If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I recently ordered my Telluride (SX, moss green, butterscotch, carpeted mats, and tow hitch - NOT tow package). When my dealer sent me the KFOS order confirmation, I noticed the MSRP was $47,115, which I'm 99.9% sure would be the price of my configuration with the tow package, not just the tow hitch. I don't care *that* much about the price difference, but I'm not really too keen on getting the self leveling suspension because of 1) the issues I've read people having with it, and 2) the price to repair if I do have problems. Is it worth pushing back and getting the configuration I want? I feel like it will be a big hassle and delay my delivery, but I'm also paying a lot of money for this car and want it to be exactly what I want. Thoughts?

I installed just the oe hitch myself and have the regular suspension. I would be leary of all the negative reports on the self leveling, many like the feature. If I ordered one and it came that way, I would keep it. I don't tow anything significant or have had the car sag from weight either.

I have 20k on mine with self leveling suspension. I am concerned about the cost of replacement shocks down the road but we're talking about the 100k mark or so. Who knows if I'll even have it that long. I'm guessing you could just put standard shocks in if the cost was too high. No issues though, I've towed, hauled heavy loads and a car full of people and the car has performed well.

I would just buy it. The factory hitch and wiring is done nicely. There if you ever need it and not in the way if you don't.

It depends on what order confirmation you're referring to. If it's the confirmation when the order was first placed in KDealer via WebDCS, then you still have a little while before it's accepted into KFOS and should be able to change it without much, if any, delay. If you're referring to the actual KFOS order acceptance (typically 1-3 months after the order is placed with the dealership), I'd keep the tow package. Sure, there are potential drawbacks of the self-leveling shocks, but those are likely either covered under warranty or won't be an issue for many years.

The page said "Dealer KFOS Order (September KFOS order will close within 4 hours!) and it listed 5 telluride sx's - one of which is mine and has my name in the "sold order" column.

That’s definitely the KFOS order acceptance - I’d keep the tow package and not think twice.

The issues people have had with the shocks have been covered under warranty. When it’s time to replace them years down the line, you could replace them with regular shocks (don’t forget to replace the coil springs as well since they’re different) for likely cheaper than just the self-leveling shocks.

Sounds good. On that note - any idea typically how long after order acceptance to delivery?

4-6 weeks is the general consensus I believe.

I have a tow package-equipped Telly on the way and not too concerned about a relatively small fraction of owners having problems. I don’t plan to tow anything, just hitch a bike rack, but I’m not losing sleep over the SLS
