• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... @claybakin247 - no reason to spring out of your comfort zone! But I’d also say ‘get what you want’. If you REALLY want some of the comfort features of the EX+ trims and can wait/save for another year, they’ll be more readily available and ‘may’ be more affordable. If you’re wanting to spring on something, you WONT be disappointed with sticking with ‘just’ the S (I wouldn’t recommend a lower trim).

It’s a beautiful car, no matter what route you choose! Good luck!

BTW, I also installed 1 inch spacers on all four wheels which I think gives the entire vehicle a different stance on the road and a better look when combined with the side steps / running boards. 1 inch spacers brought the tires out to be inline with the outside edge of the fenders with no interference when steering is in full lock position.

I also tinted front windows/windsheild and re-badged the vehicle all the way around including rims and steering wheel. I believe small changes and attention to detail makes a big difference.

I also had to install an aftermarket liftgate kit as I did not realize it when we purchased to S model that it did not have this feature. Dealer did not give a hoot after we got vehicle home. We purchased S model because we wanted 20 inch rims and a grey trim package (no fake wood) only offered in S. EX had 18 inch rims and SX was out of our budget. If I have any negative comment about the S model is that it has all kinds of bells and whistles, but no automatic lift gate and no garage opener button.

I never would have thought I would buy a Kia, but I did so because of the great ratings the Telluride received in Consumer Reports and based on everything I was reading about this vehicle. So far, very happy
Can you give info on the spacers you used? I agree it gives the vehicle a better stance and would like to make the change to mine as well.

For me it was all about getting into a Telluride (which I had read so many good things about) within my budget. Yes, I would have liked an EX or even better an SX, but not in my budget. Plus, when you add in the longer term cost of financing and the additional interest we would have had to pay, then the difference between an S and an SX was HUGE!!!!! I am not a mechanic. I am a YouTube do-it-myself kind a guy that will sometimes take on more than I should, but I always get it done in the end.

Bottom line - If money is no problem, then get the SX Nightfall edition (a friend of mine has one and it is awesome). If you really want a telluride and you have limited budget then the S has a few less whistles and bells, but it has the same great drivetrain, look and reliability...actually my buddy with the Nightfall did have a few warranty issue to deal with and I have had none. If you are handy, you can do some of the things I did and maybe other options. If not, the Kia Telluride S is still an awesome great looking and hopefully very reliable car.

Looks really good(y). Mind dropping a link to the spacers you used. Been looking to do the same thing.

Hello! New member here and we are planning to order a Telluride next week! We're trying to decide on getting the Side Steps. I've seen the instructions and pictures posted here and elsewhere. There's a Warning Label that's attached to the B Pillar. What is the warning, is it just a weight limit? thanks!

Fred

The dealer charges about $1100 or so to install and provide the materials. I could try them myself but honestly just don’t have the patience and time. Not sure if there are aftermarket places in CA that could do it for less
