If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Am I foolish to expect our dealer to get us the model we want?

We've been waiting 11 months and have an order upgraded to 2023 for an XPRO, SX without Prestige.

Our dealer is saying we are next on their list (at this low volume dealer) to get one of these models.

Our dealer also says Kia will select specific orders from each dealer based on the number of each specific model allocated to that dealer.

So, what I get from all that is that it may take a long time since we requested a model which is in relatively low demand from a low volume dealer (only 19 pages out of a total of 358 on Failcat). I watch other models appear for our dealer (for more popular models) on Failcat and it's frustrating.

Is my understanding correct?

On one hand I don't mid waiting. On the other is it possible they'll never pick up/allocate our model/order from this low volume dealer?

I understand we could change to a popular model or a high volume dealer and likely get the vehicle more quickly but aren't ready to do that yet.

While we have not been in any hurry, I worry our 220,000 mile 2013 Outback won't last forever.

Your order eventually will be picked up unless Kia notifies your dealer certain specific orders will no longer be built. Say a certain interior leather color has been in low demand and Kia decides to stop building with such leather color. If your build order is with such leather color, your dealer will contact you to modify your existing order. This will not make you lose your spot in the waiting queue. Other than that, just be patient and wait for your order to be picked up. You already pointed out you ordered from a low-volume dealer, it must take a longer time to have your Telly. Just be patient. Good luck!
