• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Annoying sound won’t stop.. HELP!!

Maybe it’s a dealer add-on that is activated if you didn’t pay enough markup at purchase

Any updates? Curious what that alarm was/is.

No update yet. It will probably be next week before I have a chance to take it to the dealership. I will update on here once I find out whats going on.

That sound sounds scary ---> Halloween theme

I’d be really surprised if it a warning tone from the car. I’ve never heard anything like that as part of a vehicle wanting system. I’m sure you tried already, but you should try to isolate the source of the noise. If you can find it , you’ll see what causing it.

It is definitely from the car. It happens every time we start the car as long as the car has been off for 20ish minutes or more. It doesnt matter if its me driving, or my wife driving. I sent a message to the dealership to see if they can tell me what it is.

I am getting the same sound, happened only a few days after getting the car.

I am at the dealership now. The service manager said he had never heard the sound like that before. I will let you all know what I find out.

I've had Kias from 2004 and up and have never heard that sound either. Hope they find it because I would be curious to know what it is.

Ok, so I have an update. It is a GPS tracker that was installed by the dealership. I bought my car from a dealership 120 miles away. I took it to my local dealership today and they were able to find the GPS. They were not allowed to remove it since it was installed by the other dealership. I have a call into the dealership I purchased it and am waiting for them to call me back. I will let you guys know once I hear back.

Good they found it! Must have driven you crazy. I figured it was something like that, but it was hardwired, not on the OBD port?

Yeah it was hardwired. I would have never known it was there.

I don't understand why they can't remove it if you said to remove it. It is your car now and not the other dealers car. Take it to a sound shop or any place that installs them and have them remove it then.

I was able to talk to the dealership I purchased it from and he disabled it in 4 seconds. All is good now!

I had a foreign device / alarm installed on my Telluride. I had to have the company remove it. I didn’t want to risk a future failure that would immobilize the car. They agreed

Get it removed. “GPS”-I wouldn’t feel comfortable even if it’s disabled.
I totally agree with you. What I‘ve noticed with higher end cars these days is, the majority of them are LoJacked at the dealership before you even drive it off the lot. It started off as a big thing with buy here pay here cars. They specifically used it for reasons of default to have the ability to find the car anywhere. Regular dealers started using LoJack years back. I’m not sure if it’s based on a requirement from the banks that their using to finance these cars or not or if it’s part of a dealer add-on hidden by fees. Just know it’s not free and you probably paid for it in the price of the car. However, to not inform the customer of it being there in the first place speaks volumes. Quiet frankly if this didn’t happen the customer would’ve never known it was there to begin with.

Or you could just leave it on there. Think of it as a free LoJack add-on.
If your Telly gets stolen, just call your dealer and ask them where it is!

Yeah, they said they deactivated them, but I really want to have it removed! You are right, if it wasn’t for this annoying alarm, I would have never known it was there.
