Any Dealers in Massachusetts taking 2021 Telluride orders at MSRP with not Market Demand Mark-up?

Try contacting Jim Brophy, GM @ Gervais Kia in Lowell. He’s a good guy, will give you straight info, even returns phone calls!!
Ordered @ MSRP, in writing.
2020 model was cancelled; my ‘21 now about to ship. Confirmed VIN, have window
sticker.
Tell Jim that Lou suggested you call him. Good Luck in your search!!
Thank you! I am contacting him today. I will be sure to let him know that you recommended him...:giggle:

Also FYI, Pride Kia just had 3 S FWD VINs created last week. They may have something for you or they may be sold orders.

Great!! Let me know how it works out!!
Best of Luck to you!!

Awesome! Thank you very much!;)

Check with Brian Byington at Ron Bouchard Kia as well. He had more than just the SX available on his list. I was just focused on the SX though so I didn't ask for details on others.

From first hand experience, I can second this. Dan O'Brien has two Kia dealers. One in Norwood MA and one in Portsmouth NH. Both were awful.
They also have one in Concord NH.

Were you successful in working it out with Jim Brophy? I’m finding that every dealer I talk to is selling 100% of their 2021 incoming inventory sight-unseen and asking for $8k-$10K of markup over MSRP.

Have you considered ordering from dealers like Gervais who have been doing MSRP? Seems like 8-10k is worth the wait, if you don’t need the car yesterday.

Yes. I absolutely agree. I would be fine with paying MSRP for a new ordered vehicle. I just can’t see myself overpaying for this car to the tune of 8-10K. I was really asking the poster if Gervais was still offering MSRP for new orders because they were also heavily marking up existing dealership orders. I can wait a few months, but I think that I’ll go in a different direction if I wouldn’t receive a new order until 2021

So, I now have to recommend that you all stay away from Route 6 Auto Mall Kia in Swansea, MA. I had a deposit on a 2020 SX-P/T at MSRP which was obviously changed to a 2021. I went with them specifically because they stated they prided themselves on not marking up over MSRP and they had an incoming unit I wanted.

Welp, after weeks and weeks (daily and even hourly calls) to get an update, to find out where in line I am, they finally answered me today and told me mine drops in September but they had to re-work the lease numbers because the incentives on lease cash changed from $2000k to $330. So I'm writing down all the numbers and something looks wayyy off. Turns out they are trying to charge me $2k over MSRP now and our signed "deal" and deposit on that means nothing now. They clearly have no problem refunding my money, because someone will have no problem paying over MSRP. But now I'm faced with started from scratch, which I will. And I'll call Ken Russian at Lev Kia.

Can't trust Route 6 Auto Mall Kia in Swansea. Stay away.

This is unfortunate, Jen. I was in a similar situation with my dealer, but they honored the prenegotiated deal (on a 2020 SX) without me even asking. When I went to pick up the converted-to-2021 SX, except for the factory added costs to MSRP (Night Edition, Tow), all other charges remained the same.

Good luck with your search.

Ugh, that’s so frustrating! @jenfowler78 you’ll have to let us know if you fare any better at Lev, as it seems many others here have. But wow, that’s a long wait only to have the bait & switch at the end

It is definitely frustrating. I lost my temper with them this morning -- reigned in the cuss words but I didn't hesitate to remind them we had a written agreement (which I understand means nothing) and they needed to go back and fix this and "re-work" their numbers and call me back. Needless to say, I have not heard from them yet and I assume I'll need to be the one calling them.

In the meantime, I now have another deposit out there this time with Lev Kia and a 22 week wait. I'll keep my eye on failcat, too, and try to jump on anything close to a match and cross my fingers. I am angry, though...and maybe I cried for like 5 seconds. So far, though, Ken @ Lev has been excellent to work with.

Oh wow, amazing you were able to call Lev and put in an order already! Was Ken able to give you any assurances that make you feel better than Route 6?

Failcat is your friend. This forum helped me tremendously in my quest and I was able to secure a car from the incoming dealer allocation without having to wait for a special order. Kia is making more, they are making more of the upper trims, and they are getting better at it.

Yeah, Ken was great. I have a custom order in, paperwork went back and forth (signed, etc.) via text and he has a note on it that it's based on Kia's MSRP minus any incentives, etc. at the time of delivery. Of course, that's what my other dealer had said, but Ken and Lev Kia have enough positive feedback on here that I have no concerns at this point. I have his cell #, too, which is way more than the other dealer was willing to provide -- they wouldn't even give me an email address direct to my saleperson. I have no idea where I am in the queue of Kdealer yet, but I'll give it until next month before I start trying to get answers on that. I know there are people all over the country working with Lev so I know I have a long wait.

Definitely! I've been following TellyStats and Failcat since March. And I am encouraged that their production seems to be increasing and there are more of the higher trims coming out. 🤞

Not sure if it's yours, but they posted 2 SXs on Facebook and said they were available because " Both deals fell thru due to financing ineligibility." Maybe they're pulling his on everyone just to sell them at markups now that they know what they're worth?

It's listed in the FB group "KIA Telluride Buy-Sell-Trade"

I still haven't been able to get my place in line yet for my EX-P AWD, but I checked in again at the 5 week mark and he said my original estimate of 20 weeks (it's now 22 apparently) looks to still be on track. Like you said, there's enough positive feedback on him that I am not pushing him super hard. I'll check in again at 8 weeks to get another update. He did give me a courtesy call when a similar un-allocated car would be coming in earlier, which he mentioned he would do when I put down my deposit. I passed, but appreciated the call.

Assuming you ordered at Lev, does that mean they have a wait to just get the order into KFOS? I know some of the big dealers on here have that kind of wait, but hadn’t yet heard of that with MA dealers.

Based on my understanding of how it works from the other threads on the forum, I think that's how it works everywhere. Your order goes into KDealer first, and then based on the number of allocations the dealer is given by Kia for a particular trim in a particular month, the dealer will enter those orders from KDealer into KFOS in the order in which they were received. So theoretically if I am 5th in line when my order goes into Kdealer in early July, but the dealer gets 2 EX AWDs allocations for each of July and August, my order would not go into KFOS until the September allocation.

I went with Lev partly because of the positive feedback on Ken, and partly because they are 2nd or 3rd in MA in terms of Telluride volume. You could be first in line at a small dealer, but if they are very low volume, they might not get an allocation from Kia in your selected trim.

I could be wrong on the above, and am quite sure that if I am, someone from this forum will correct me :)
