Anyone buy an extended warranty on the Telluride?

I would think the lifetime powertrain should be included regardless if you purchase the bumper to bumper. I mean if you don't purchase theirs and purchase another elsewhere how would they know? I purchased one from my dealership for $1877 zero deductible because I want some peace of mind with all the electronics but I'm going to be cancelling that one and going with an AUL policy I received from Your Advocate Alliance (YAA) for $1392 with $100 deductible. I'm hoping I won't have to use it a lot since I'd be using it mostly for what is not covered under the included 10 year 100k mile Kia warranty.
The lifetime power train is included regardless of me buying the additional lifetime bumper to bumper wrap.

But to add the lifetime bumper to bumper, I have to add it at the point of sale.

Debating if I should buy an extended warranty on my Telluride SX. Not worried as much about the car as I am about all the electronics.

If you bought one, which one and how much? How is the coverage?
You get a $100,000 mlle waranty on a new car so why would you need one

100000 mile power train. The dealership give you lifetime power train for free.

This is a lifetime unlimited miles bumper to bumper.

My question to them would be what the refund structure would be if you would sell the vehicle. With most policies I've seen they pro-rate a refund to you after 30-90 days after you get the policy. So for mine if I sell my vehicle after one year I'd get 90% refunded to me by notifying them. Have you tried to negotiate the price based off the offers from other providers?

Got my Telly last night from the dealer. The offer from the dealer was > $4800 for the 10yr/100k warranty with little budging and no real desire to keep this local and compete. Needless to say I'm working with Lucas and Craig from Muncie this morning with very little effort. I called Fidelity and ensured my local dealer was one of the authorized service centers, and it was (note: getting that answer was not easy). Certainly I realize that this is a huge profit center for dealers, but for people already paying over msrp, this is just silly.

Tell us more. I'm not familiar with YAA or AUL. What policy did you negotiate and what are the terms? Did you purchase through YAA or AUL? Contact information for who you worked with? Thank you!

You can find the information at this website, Extended Warranty - YAA. I had already created an account because they provide a lot of information and tools to negotiate your car deal. Once the account is created you just type in your vin and vehicle information and it gives you your price. They are transparent letting you know that they make $500 from the policy they sell. YAA sells the AUL policy, I worked with Kimberly.

So I've got the Kia Fidelity 10year, 100,000 mile warranty down to $1550 or the CNA National Lifetime mileage warranty down to $2100.

Is the the $550 difference worth the "lifetime"?

Odd thing is I've called service departments that primarily use CNA and they tell you to absolutely go with CNA. I've called service departments that primarily use Fidelity and they tell you to absolutely go with Fidelity.

I don't know...

I think it all comes down to how long you plan to keep the vehicle. An extra $550 for unlimited years and miles seems like a good deal, especially if it is transferrable so you can use that if you ever try to sell as well. I'm assuming they are both zero dollar deductibles? Do you know if they would sell the $1550 policy to people that purchased elsewhere like Kia of Munice does? I'm assuming both of these are offered by the same dealership but I could be wrong.

The lifetime is lifetime, but only for the original owner.

Well that seems to change things at least in my view. Because with the policies for with mileage and years attached you can get a pro-rated refund if you get rid of the vehicle or can transfer it. Not only if you sell it but if you happen to be in an accident and it's totaled. With those policies you can at least get some money back for what you didn't use but with the lifetime if you have bad luck and your Telluride gets totaled a month after the cancellation period you're out $2100. Who were you getting the $1550 policy from by the way?

Here's what I've got so far...

So the CNA lifetime warranty, and before canceled and refunded. It it's prorated for 84 month/7 years. After the 84 months prorated refund is $0. But the warranty continues for the life of the original owner. Which will eventually just be my kids. I'll still file the claims for them.

The Kia Fidelity can be prorated cancel up 10 years, but your paying for a warranty that doesn't kick in until after 60k miles.

Kia dealer say it's easy to file with Fidelity since they can process requests through the very same service portal. Your 7 day rental coverage starts the same day.

With CNA, they cover all the same, but you have to wait for a CNA rep to come out a inspect the claim which can take up to 5 days. Your rental car coverage starts the day the claim is inspected and approved.

If the car will stay with the family for life, and the dealing with an inspection period is ok, then the CNA is better right?

Or..pay less for the Fidelity since you're not keeping the car past 10 years.

I wasn't ignoring you all o. This. I wanted to make sure he was ok with me sharing his information.

Please call or email Gaston Gomez at Fort Bend Kia.

His price on the 10year/100k should be just slightly under $1550 on a new Telluride that is under 500 miles on the Odo.

Additionally, he can sell the warranty to out of state buyers.

Under 500 miles? Shoot, we just passed 1,200. Guess we will trying calling to get price anyway as we just decided to pull the trigger on an extended warranty.

Ok well that makes things a lot better. If you're planning to keep it and having your kids drive it after then I think the better option might be the lifetime warranty assuming you're ok with the inspection time. If you're unsure about how long you're going to keep it then I'd go with the 10 year 100K. I guess you also have to take into account the mileage you're going to be putting on your Telluride. I put less than 10K a year so it's ok for me, but if you're going to go over 10K per year then that will probably help you decide as well. Thanks for the contact info by the way. I'm still waiting to get the initial warranty cancelled so I have not signed up for the new one yet. I might just go with the 10 year from Fort Bend Kia since it's not deductible.

I paid $1,400.00 for extended warranty. I believe all extra warrantys are 3rd party. Meaning a deductable involved.
I bought due to not trusting a new models electronics.

I believe Kia of Munice's cut-off for their warranty is 5,000 miles.

Staying within the family may not be the same as original owner. What if family members move outside the area. Will they be driving a car in dad's name?

How long have you kept cars in the past? My two cars right now are 12 years old. In the past, I have kept cars for 10 years. So I would not benefit from a lifetime warranty. At the same time, we tend to put over 200,000 miles on our cars. So a warranty that runs out at 120,000 miles doesn't work for us either. We tend to put 15,000 to 20,000 miles on per year.
