• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Howdy all, just moved to South Korea for work and Uncle Sam paid to ship my 2020 EX over. Ive one seen one other Telluride in the past 3 months and I've only seen it once. The looks I get from the Koreans are awesome, because they have no idea what it is. Tons of Palisade and Genesis SUVs over here, but no Telly's.

I digress...anyone ever try the Korean version of the infotainment update? I updated my system this spring to the new radio tubes 🙄 and vaguely remember there being an option for SK. I'm curious if there's a way to download the maps but keep the language in English. Any ideas??

I can only imagine all the people staring at that Beautiful!! Why don’t they make the Telluride an option for Korea? 🤔 Maybe you can check and see if anyone out there make some special upgrades for the Telluride. I remember a thread where someone had the updated version just not sure if you can update the maps and keep it in English. Someone chime in and help a fellow member out👍

I’m afraid you’re not going to have any success.

The biggest problem is the Telluride is not sold in Korea, so there will not be any infotainment updates for the Telluride with maps for that region.

The other problem you would have, even if Korean maps for the Telluride did exist, is that you can only install updates for the region where your car was bought anyway. For example, a Canadian Telluride owner can’t install the US update, and vice versa. So your only option will be to install the US updates on your US car (which is unhelpful for where you currently are).

Fortunately, you can use CarPlay and Android Auto, so you are not locked out of having any sort of mapping solution… it just won’t be the stock one.

How about checking with Hyundai? Infotainment unit might be similar enough.

I know there were other country options when I downloaded the US update. Will they just not be compatible with a US-bought vehicle? I don't understand why that would be since the software for the vehicle should be the same regardless of where it's shipped.

I had forgotten about Android auto, hadn't ever used it since we bought the car 2 years ago because we never needed it...good point. Right now I'm just navigating with the phone sitting in the console which isn't bad. I DO miss my Sirius XM though...

The important point is not the car but the infotainment system, even hardware from different vendors are software and maps compatible. You usually can install kia software on hyundai and vice versa. Check what is your infotainment system and if it"s gen2, gen5, gen5w you will easily find a compatible upgrade
