If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Anyone purchase an extended warranty?

Paid $1,600 at dealer for a 10 year 100k bumper to bumper warranty. Its through Fidelity and is the Platinum package. My main concern was the factory 3 year 36k mile warranty on the electronics. I just figured there would eventually be something that goes wrong with the infotainment. Now I have peace of mind.

IMO these products aren't worth it. The math is stacked against you ever breaking even. These aren’t even warranties they’re technically “service contracts” and therefor don’t provide the consumer protections applied to an actual warranty. The stipulations and hoops you often have to jump through to get a service covered can be a headache. I had one that was offered free when I bought a used car and couldn’t ever get anything covered. The contracts are structured with so many stipulations sometimes including that the car has to “break down” before it’s covered. So if a part is failing, too bad, you have to wait until it fails completely. The chances of something going wrong with the infotainment between 36,000 and 100,000 miles does not justify the cost IMO. If you took that $1,500 and invested it you could double your money over 6 years and have it on hand to cover repairs on your own terms, or you could give it to an insurance company for a product you’ll likely never use. Just my 2 (or 3) cents but there is a ton of data on them if you’re interested online.

Eneded up getting a 10/100K bumper to bumper (includes tech) for $1600. I'm happy with that considering all the tech the SX has. No worries for at least 100K.

Would you mind sharing which dealer gave you this price.

I was offered a 10 year/150,000 mile extended warranty at my local Kia dealer but it was going to cost $2,450 and the dealer wouldn't budge on price of it. I decided to go with the Fidelity Platinum Extended warranty with Jason and Craig from Kia of Muncie for 8 years/120,000 miles of coverage for $1,578 with no deductible. Thanks to Jason and Craig for their assistance in getting me this coverage for my Telluride SXP AWD in Dark Moss with the Dune Brown Kappa.

There is an edit option 😬

Much better than a second post.

I use it 1 - 2X on every post I make from my phone for the same reason. Ever since iOS 13, I have a ton of weird things that make no sense getting posted...

The three dots with a down arrow below your post if on an iPhone.

I was not aware of the edit option but thanks for the information on how to do it. I am still new to posting on this forum but great info on here.

I am now on the fence. Just bought my Telluride Saturday and the dealership sold me on a CNA National 100K mile bumper to bumper to wrap the factory warranty for $2500. Shoulda looked on this site beforehand, because I saw many here are in the $1700 range. After leaving the dealer, and seeing the rates you all posted, I now have dealer cancelling my warranty because they do not negotiate it. They are being good about it. I called CarShield warranty and for the same coverage they want $3993. Geez. I have not checked anywhere else yet, but as I read, I don't like the stipulations on some extended warranties. Seems some will only use their network of repair centers. I live in rural North Dakota so I have only certain places near me to get repairs done.

I will have to research this more. Some of the extended warranties only charge more to add on towing and roadside assistance, yet I can get those services add to my car insurance plan through USAA, so I need to see if it is cheaper to that versus stepping up the warranty package for those features.
