Anyone Purchased from Jim Butler Kia in Chesterfield, MO?

Interesting. What does "wanting me to pickup something unallocated" mean? Thought you already put in your order? My salesperson said she had no idea whether I'd get a 22 or 23. Ordered 3/4, so 3 weeks before you.
Every now and then dealerships get delivered unallocated vehicles. i.e. Kia will send them vehicles that are not ordered. Theyre part of the standard allocation to the dealership. My salesman was trying to sell me one of those and then he would presumably sell the one that I ordered at a markup.

Not a big deal. Just kind of got me thinking about what to do if I do get forced to a 2023. Its a bit more expensive to get what I want from the 22. We ordered an SX-N Ebony Black/Gray. The allocated had a different interior color and wasn't Nightfall and they have a markup on those. So I really didnt want to pay a premium for something that wasn't what we ordered.

I am a bit worried that we wont get what we want with the 2023 that is essentially made for us so we may just order a 2023 when they open that up to be safe. A 2023 SX/X-Line is the "same" car.

No sense in complaining about how we hate the 23 or whatever. No one in their right mind is going to buy a used '22 with the insane markups they have. So Im just going to plan ahead and order the 23 so we dont get stuck with something we dont like.

Thank you for clarifying, I didn't know they would get any unallocated ones. Thought they had their order books and that was it.

Also, did he tell you September was the time when production switches to 23 or are you just assuming?

Guess you don't know where you're in line either? I asked once but my salesperson kinda dodged the question. Maybe not to turn me off and order elsewhere. Probably should've placed the same order with Lou Fusz and take which one comes in first but didn't think of that. With having real customer feedback here on the forum, looks like Jim Butler is delivering September/October orders now. So about 6 months out. I hope Kia ramps up production to crank out as many 22 as possible and that some people in line switch to 23 orders so folks like us get bumped up. My wife said she'd also be fine with a 23. I'd be on board if the 23 SX/X-Line keeps the amber DRLs and the price doesn't go up too much. We shall see.

Oh and agreed, makes zero sense to buy a used one in this climate. In February, we test drove a 21 SX FWD (no P, no NE) with 20k miles or so and they were asking 58k. Insane.

I ordered mine from Jim Butler on 3/25 and was told it would more than likely be a '22.

Got a text from my salesman after the announcement wanting me to pick up something unallocated so that I dont get stuck with a 2023. Not really sure what to think now.

Jim Butler is allocated ~30 a month. If 22's are converted to a 23 starting in September that gives me a ~210 vehicle buffer before I'm converted. I just hope that Kia increases production and I get mine before they switch.
I ordered mine on 3/28 and was warned several times that it is likely to be a '23 because of the wait times. I just reached out to my saleswoman and she said she wouldn't know more until Kia.com switches over to the 2023 model year. I have no idea when that will be so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I love the interior changes to the 2023 so as long as the mid-level trims can still have all blacked out trim similar to Nightfall and don't have the ugly front bumper that the X-Pro does, I'll be happy.

I have the chance to purchase a gravity grey nightfall that will be here at the end of June but I do not like that color at all. I just ordered today from Jim butler and they said 6 months..I hope it’s sooner! 😒…but doesn’t sound that way. SX white nightfall

Get what you really want. How come you were offered the grey one? Did they say it was a canceled order? I ordered SX white nightfall beginning of March and was quoted 3 - 6 months initially and last month they said it'd be 6 months so beginning of September.

I contacted a local dealer and he said they had a gravity grey coming that was not claimed. I would have bought it if it was any other color. I’m hoping to get it in 6 months. My baby is due nov. 16. It’s mommas new car for the baby.

He said it would be November ish. It will most likely be a ‘23 but I prefer a ‘22

Should get there right around that time. Fingers crossed for the car and the baby of course. I think it'll be a '23 though. There was a thread here on the forum with a dealer who said he had some inside scoop and rumor is they're going to switch to '23 production in October. He thinks it'll be even sooner. We'll see, who knows. I am hoping to get one of the last '22s but I think my wife (will be her car) would be fine with a '23. She 'd be bummed if butterscotch went away.

Same. We ordered the butterscotch as well. Keep me informed with any updates.

How soon you get your confirmation? And off subject but my wife’s maid name is Klink 😂
The day I ordered they just told me that the order has been accepted by Kia. I learned through this forum that the order needs to be "picked up", that's when things really move forward. Received an email couple of weeks ago from the dealership letting people know that it'll take around 6 months. They probably got too many inquiries. Just patiently waiting now. Will provide an update here when I get new info.

That's hilarious 😊 I have no ties to that name, I just like Hogan's Heroes and Colonel Klink is my favorite character.

We ordered from Jim Butler 6 months ago. Still waiting to be “picked up”. No ETA yet.

Thank you for sharing. That doesn't sound too good. What did you order? They seem to be getting mostly SX AWD, then EX, then the other trims.

SX AWD N/P/T
Could be the Tow Package. Someone on here was saying that there may be an issue with that lately but it's all speculation I guess. I ordered SX AWD N. No add-ons that could potentially drag out the process.

How do you know when it’s “picked up”?

I’m so tired of waiting.

I ordered 6/21
Order was recalled b/c mfr stopped including RES & Butler dropped the ball.

They re-submitted my order 12/21 and told me, my new wait time would maybe be 9/22.

I don’t even know what to say anymore.

That is crazy. Sorry to hear. I wonder whether I should have gone with Lou Fusz instead. They are way higher volume than Butler.
