Battery discharge warning

My Telluride is currently in the shop for this Battery Discharge Warning. Battery died twice while on vacation and had to call AAA. Then power windows randomly stopped working and then started working again an hour later. Dealer says they are waiting on directions from Kia Corp on what to replace on the car. This all started after I enabled UVO, so it is definitely either a ECU or Infotainment component issue.

I thought that warning only comes when the radio is running after the vehicle is turned off. I'm less than a year in with my telluride and now I'm having battery issues on cold days. I should not have to jump a new vehicle

No did it come up while the car was off and the radio still playing or while the car is in the on position without being started? If so then that's why you'll see it. But also them batteries are not the best (factory battery). If you have any external devices, it's possible that it's draining your battery but if you seen it during the modes I explained, then it's just a warning to let you know that you're battery is draining and to fully turn off the vehicle to preserve battery

I had this problem. Had to jump start my car if it sat for more than 8 hours. It ended up being the IBU assembly. Look in the fuse panel that's inside the car under the steering wheel. If you see a jumper wire, it's possible that's your problem.

Which Garmin do you have? I've been contemplating it but I'm wary about paying the premium for it over other dashcams. Do you have it set to run while the car is off or have a wifi hotspot it can connect to to send events to the cloud?

I have the 65W. I have it set to run for 10 minutes after I shut the car off, but parking guard will record if there is an incident. No wifi hotspot. It's small and discreet. The only difference between the 65 and 65W is the W is for wide-angle.

The problem of "battery discharging due to external electronic devices" was solved by my dealer who had the car for a week. They had to replace a module that controls the radio which was drawing down the battery when the vehicle was turned off. They called it the repair "replacing the LDC unit, part number K95300 S9000. The dealer did mention that KIA was now aware of this situation.

Dealer did the same replacement on my Telluride due to the Battery discharge error. No problems since.
