• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Has anyone had issues with the battery discharging inexplicably? This has started happening repeatedly, with nothing that I can find left on (lights, etc.) I’ve had the battery drop down to between 4V and 10V.

Do you drive it often?

Remember, there are systems that are always drawing some power from the battery since it is always ON, i.e. UVO, key less entry, etc. It not like the old days when you switched the ignition key off. Otherwise, you battery may be bad. 4V is pretty low. There are more than one reports of bad batteries being replace under warranty. Have the dealer test your battery and charging system.

I’m having the same issue. Even sporadically won’t start. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the battery and it’s still giving me the same alert....

Ask them to check the ground and make sure there isn’t a slightly loose connection. My issue actually disappeared as quickly as it started, and it hasn’t reoccurred, but that was going to be the next step. I went to the dealer and they weren’t able to do anything the day I did because they didn’t have a Telluride-certified tech (as others have pointed out, it’s a higher tech car than other Kias) but that’s where the service manager and I theorized the issue might be after confirming the battery itself was not the issue.

A loose ground could very well be it and a great place to start.

Something else to consider.....and this was not in a Telluride. I have a motorized cell phone holder/charger and found that when I leave it plugged in there is a small, constant draw of power. It killed a year old battery in my Mazda6. I now try to make sure I unplug it when getting out of the car, especially if I don't plan to drive again any time soon.

im currently experiencing the same problem even though i replaced it with a recommended interstate battery. just wondering if you finally figured out the root cause of it

Mine was having the same problem. I was getting a message on the dash saying something about battery discharging due to connected devices (nothing was connected). About a day later, the battery would be dead. I took it into the dealer and they said a few modules weren't shutting off and they ordered a new IBU. It was replaced late last week, and so far no more message and no more dead battery...but I guess only time will tell.

Not having the issue on my Telly but my wife's new 2022 Hyundai Tucson is having the same issue (lots of the same tech used in both I'm sure). Got it July 1 and it's currently in the shop for the third time as they try to find the issue. They replaced the battery last time and it was dead again within two days. It's been dead 12 or more times since we got it, even started in the first week we had it. Frustrating since you need to drive it with all the new tech on it but now we're at the stage where we don't trust driving it. This time dealer said they had another car in with the same issue so hope they solve it.
