Best Value Purchase Options To Order For California?

I see you can do an order from Muncie or Colorado for MSRP plus dealer fee plus shipping charges.
I read that shipping is cheaper from Colorado, but the Colorado dealers charge a $700 dealer fee.
So, the total costs will be around MSRP plus somewhere around roughly $2000 in shipping and dealer fees. Plus around a 12 month expected wait. So, ordering a 2023 model in a couple months could actually turn into a 2024 model year delivery at a different price than agreed upon.

Are those the best value options for California delivery or are there any California dealers where you can order for less than $2K over MSRP including dealer/doc fees?

I won’t be sure I want to buy one until I see photos of the 2023 trims inside and out, finalized pricing, colors and standard features and options changes on the 2023 LX and EX models.

Right now the best option is Colorado. They are a high volume dealer so you get it faster than Muncie.

I am picking up my SX from Muncie next month driving it back to CA. I got someone else ordered car as they didn't want it. For my original order Dec 2021 I would have got the car around Oct/Nov 2022. You are looking at 11 months wait with Muncie.

Are you in NorCal? Modesto Kia had 3k markup in 2021 don't know how much it is now.

Probably won’t go with the Modesto dealership. I found a post from 2021 that says they also require you to get mandatory VIN etching for $500. So, the markup was actually $3500 in 2021.
A newer post from this year says $5K markup.

CA dealers tell me Kia does not allow special orders, but dealers in other states tell me they DO place special orders... So what's the truth?

Valley Kia in Modesto is $5k. They just aren't able to sell enough cars. Have to make the money somewhere. I ordered at the beginning of July 2022 and was told 12-14 months. Mike at Peak Kia in Colorado quoted 4-8 months. They are a high volume dealer. Even with dealer fees and shipping, you could probably save just over $2k by ordering from Peak Kia. We are just not sure we want the extra hassle.

Back in April I was quoted 4-6 months for my order from CO dealers. Both were spot on. I don't think you're looking at 12 months if you order from Peak, Arapahoe, or Fowler/I-25.
