• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Is anyone near Plano TX with a black copper Telluride willing to let us come by/meet up so we can see this color in person? Placed an order for an Ebony Black on Monday, but seriously considering switching to Black Copper. But just can't do it without seeing the color in person. It would be a great help.

I'd be afraid of that pushing my order. I think both colors are awesome. Works well with the black wheels.

We ended up ordering Black Copper without being able to see it in person. It’s the least produced color since it’s only available on the SX. We knew there was little chance of seeing it in person anytime soon. So we bit the bullet and committed to a model already slotted to arrive at the dealership next month. We were told it will look black. And it certain lighting you will be able to see the dark reddish metallic come through. Best of luck!

When we saw it in person it had a hint of purple to maroon. Wife loved it. I thought it looked great too. Someone on the board just recently picked one up.

I hope you can find somebody to hook up with, but I think the forum consensus is it looks black--but if you see it in the right light you get that beautiful root beer/dark brown color--aka "black copper". The name pretty much says it all. If you were going to be happy with black, this is hardly even an adjustment. It will look black most of the time, but every once in a while you will catch a glimpse of its true color, which is neat. Kind of like your car has a secret weapon of color. How cool is that?

It will look like regular black 95% of the time.

Just order it.

In fact, I ordered a black car. Went back to dealer to see if the one I tested was black or copper black. Had to remove the dust and use a light to see the color was actually copper black. Changed my order at that time to the copper black.

Thank you guys for the replies so far. The issue is that some of the pictures on this forum seem to make the car look too brown for my wife’s taste. However, it seems like everyone who actually owns one says that the copper is subtle and adds interest. I think my wife and I both agree, but the worst thing that could happen is that we wait all this time, my wife is excited to get her new car, and we arrive to pick it up and she is disappointed that it’s too brown. She knows she likes the Ebony Black. That’s why I want her too see it before committing to it. We both like the idea of having something a little different. Thank you for the responses as we are definitely interested in other’s opinions, especially on how subtle or not so subtle the copper color is. I have read that some say they see purple and red, but I just don’t see that in the pictures that I have seen. The color looks awesome to me, but it’s going to be her car and I want her to be happy with it.

It’s a tough decision. And when you google the color.....everyone looks different! If anything, it adds to the anticipation of its arrival!

Look at this post and go up and down the thread near this post to see some of the better pics Zi have seen of the color.

Even my order was a gamble as Zico never seen the color in full sun.

I would just go with what you've already ordered. It's already ordered. It looks fantastic. Your wife already likes it.

I should have mentioned in the first post that we ordered with Stephen Cantrelle. He has been great! Ordered at MSRP. He called me today to let me know that a Black Copper SXP was at another dealership. My wife and I rode over and took a look at it. We have changed our order to the Black Copper. I highly recommend Stephen to anyone who is considering ordering a Telluride. He has gone above and beyond to answer all of our questions and took quite a bit of time helping us when we went over to Classic Kia of Carrolton to view the Telluride for the first time. He didn't have to worry about finding us a Black Copper to look at, but he did and sent us to another dealer to look at it. Thanks Stephen!

Finally some sun today and the copper was so pretty!!

I don't suppose you snapped any pics did you?

We didn’t take any pictures...it’s overcast in the Dallas area so you wouldn’t see anything but black. We had to wipe the dust off of an area and turn our iPhone light on it just to see the copper color. It was enough for my wife to say she wants it. The thing was that she likes the idea of seeing something different or a glimpse of color, just not see it in the sun and see a brown car. I can’t imagine as hard as it is to tell that there is any copper color on a cloudy day that the car will look totally like it’s not black on a sunny day.

Thank you! That’s the exact same reason my spouse wanted the Black Copper......just something a little bit different than plain black.
