The Telluride actually does a very good job of warning you of fast-approaching vehicles that you might not even be aware of yet. The light/warning (if you signal) will show up based on the other vehicle’s distance from you and relative speed.I've found that the indicator just comes on when the vehicle is right there and i've been in plenty of other vehicles which give you a little more notice.
Confirmed today it does. I passed someone and checked the mirror and the indication showed upIt might not come on when you are passing a car that is already in front of you though.
Thanks to all!
Living in LA maneuvering at low speed is not unusual in traffic. No blind-spot indication below 20 mph is missed as my last vehicle would indicate if a vehicle was there even at a standstill. I have proved that with my Telluride there is no indication and no audible warning or steering wheel vibrating warning with the turn signal on below 20 mph. Will check with the service department when I take it in for first service.
Leaving Tuesday for the first road trip towing a trailer. Will be interesting.
Would be good to know if any other Tellurides have indication and warning with turn signal on below 20 mph.
Was out of town with no internet connection. AZ desert to get away from the LA crazy for a while.
Tellthemride,
Thanks for all the info and attachments.
Verified with the dealer that the Blind-Spot Indicators in the mirrors does not work below 20 MPH. Also, verified the Collision Warning does not work above 40 MPH.
First long road trip towing trailer and will say the Blind-Spot Indicators, Smart Cruise Control and Lane Keeping works really well on the highway. Towing a 3500 pound trailer with 470 pound tongue weight was really good. The Lane Keeping took a little getting use to. It reacts to things down to the pull, push of 18 wheelers in a good way.
Thanks to all for your help.
This is certainly untrue. There is a bit of a range of operating speeds based on type of object and the warning type (initial warning or later active braking), but the FCA system most definitely does not give up at 40 mph. Might need to reread some of the manual. Also, verified the Collision Warning does not work above 40 MPH.
40 miles per hour is wrong but this is what the dealer gave me.
Reminders: • FCA-Ped/FCW will be activated by default when the ignition is cycled ON, even when the previous setting was OFF. • FCA-Ped/FCW will not operate when the vehicle is traveling faster than approximately 45/50 mph, respectively. • If FCA-Ped is operating and the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is turned OFF, FCA-Ped system is automatically turned OFF. • When the FCA-Ped system is off, the FCA-Ped warning indicator is on in the Instrument Cluster. Warning: FCA-Ped and FCW are supplemental systems. Never intentionally attempt to activate or test the operation of the systems. Do not solely rely on the systems and always drive safely.
I hope that is true. I like the FCA working at all speeds. You are right some of this info is confusing.
