• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Borla Exhaust coming

There you go!

Bump on an older thread since it hasn't been updated.

Has anyone installed the Borla exhaust mod yet? Looks pretty simple to do. Have you enjoyed it? Is there much drone on the highway?

Here's an install video. Sorry for the whiny, high pitched voice of the narrator.

Exhaust install

Loved the Borla systems....had one on each of the Vettes that I owned over the years.......if I wanted the same kind of "ooomph" in an SUV then I would have gone with a Durango and had it all!!

Cut the price down to $550. Guess many people said no to these and they have a lot of stock. What would install cost on something like this? Don't see it taking more an hour of time for a mechanic.

Would it void the warranty?

An axle back aftermarket muffler does not void a warranty. It falls under the magnuson moss warranty act protection. I think even added a button activate cutout valve in the pipe like what some do on a muscle car to make it louder doesn’t void a warranty. If a recall is done on the OE muffler you just don’t get a new one. Where you could get a problem is depending on your state where you pass the emissions test or visual inspection testing. But replacement exhausts are more about sound and emissions regulations than engine durability. The exhaust has already left the engine.

Well thank you sir for the detailed response.

Looks like if I want to change the exhaust then my warranty should be fine.

Saw an installation video - looks rather easy, I just don't have a lift.

Still not a fan of the sound a V6 makes with custom muffler.

I'll probably end up saving the money and using it for a nice ceramic coating and painting (or PC-ing) my brake calipers.

Just came across this board last night and had some interesting thoughts about it.

Have any of the regulars installed the Borla exhaust by any chance?

Got a new neighbor who is crazy into cars and said we could install it in a few hours.

I'm going to help him with Lawn care - this is going to be a good relationship for both of us - haha!

Here’s a video of a Borla install on the Telly.

Not gonna lie, if I had a spare $700 I’d probably do it

Are you going to cut your bumper to install? Don’t think the tips are compatible with an LX.

Ya, that was a little disappointing when i found that out. But assuming it doesn't get canceled or anything, planning to install myself and cut the bumper.

I know this is a lot later than the last post. I bought the Borla exhaust and I've enjoyed the little bit of vroom sound that I get when I give it gas. It is a simple install and no bolts or nuts to have to deal with. All rubber connections. I ended up purchasing a hitch after the fact and installed it after the exhaust was installed. Easy removal of the rubber connections. Now I have a pretty much brand new stock exhaust that I need to sell LOL
