If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... If you have an insurance policy that does not allow you to add coverage to a purchased car over the weekend, if you live in a state where you can't register new plates over the weekend, or if you plan to purchase the Telluride but plan to pick up at a later date here is my advice to you. As soon as you purchase the Telluride, ask to see the car again before you leave the dealership and activate the KIA UVO app on your phone.

This will allow you to track any movement or trips in your newly purchased vehicle until the time/date you come back to pickup your car. Had I known in advance this was a feature, I would have done it myself.

At the time of purchasing my Telluride SXP, it was a Saturday and my insurance company did not allow to purchase a policy in advance to purchasing the car. So I was forced to wait until Monday. Add to that fact the dealership came up with a lame excuse that there registry system in-house was not working on Monday, and wanted to make me wait another day until picking up the car. They would not send a runner to the registry, would not allow me to register at the registry myself, and would not allow me to use old plates from a car I traded in elsewhere after purchasing the car (even though my state allows this temporary use while waiting for registration). I did not trade-in to the same KIA dealer because their trade-in value offer was too low.

They basically made up a bunch of excuses that their rules are to wait for the registry system to reboot for a whole business day before they consider to send runners. They ended up sending a runner the next day.

By the time I had picked up my vehicle on Tuesday, the dealer had driven my car almost another 40 miles from the time I purchased the car and claimed that it was due to "quality testing" to make sure the car safety features were operational. I call major BS, and I am sure they had multiple interested buyers test drive my car. Why do I know this? Because when I went to their dealership to order one a few months earlier, they let me sit in and demo another Telluride that had already been purchased by somebody else. Even though they assured me that they would not be letting anybody into my purchased car, and they had "plenty" of other Tellurides to show buyers. Goes to show you how far they will go to keep SXP's on their lot one extra day to make another order/sale. Greedy salesmen.

Sucks, what did the odometer statement show when you bought the car? Was it the version before the 40 miles or after? If before, I'd charge them the standard rate per mile. After, well then not much you can do other than hope they didn't have people gunning it testing the pick up in your new car.

When I went to order mine, there were a handful there that were locked and we weren't allowed to go in because they were ordered cars that were awaiting delivery. Actually made me feel a little better. Regardless, I got to drive an SX-P they had on the lot that had just come in but was not sold. It didn't have the tow package w/ self leveling shocks and wasn't the color we wanted.

In PA we just show proof we have car insurance and we are good to register/take the car that day. Then I call the insurance company on Monday and officially add it to my policy.

I would throw a shitstorm if I was you. Picking up a new car and new as in no more than 4-6 miles on the clock.

Yes, most insurance will cover a newly purchased car automatically. But of course you don’t want to give your insurance company any out in case disaster strikes. With my current insurance company, Geico, you can register a new car purchase in the app, and it will be covered immediately.

Yeah I can confirm some dealers will gladly let you get all up in someone else's car. When i went to a local dealer to see if I could check one out in person, they didn't have any on the lot. They called me back an hour later to tell me one had just come off the truck. When I went back, it was in the service bay getting inspected and the sales person told me it was actually someone's car. They let me poke around in it and see the seats, screen, etc. but I would have felt odd driving it. In the long run, it benefited me because I got a (rare around here) close up look at an SX, but I would hate if they did that with my own Telly lol.
