• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Canadian 2021 Telluride

I ordered a black nightsky in the beginning of August. VIN was provided 3 weeks ago. Dealer says it’s on rail from Georgia to Ontario. Hopefully I can get it in next week or 2. So 90 days is pretty good.

worth mentioning I originally ordered a white one with black as a 2nd option. Dealer put the black order in 2 weeks later and the black was still ready first. No word on white. So I guess your colour options matter.
I ordered the same Black nightsky end of August got VIN 4 weeks ago. Still no word on delivery date.

ordered ours early sept. Dealer hasn't given us really any updates, just said its on file at the factory waiting to be processed whatever that means. I text the sales person and sales manager once a week to get updates. They told me it takes anywhere from 60-120 days to come in, sales guy asked me if i wanted to spend $1000 more i could get a night sky in quicker. Just told him we will go with our original order haha

Have you tried going into the "track my vehicle" thread and asking Stephen to see if he can provide you an update on the VIN?

I ordered in mid September and still haven't heard of a VIN yet. I was told it should be a 4-6 week wait.

Do they automatically let you know they have it or do you have to ask the dealership to inform you when they get the VIN?

I just asked my salesperson to let me know if they have any updates at all. She said she only gets info when the vehicle is 'at sea' or in the lot.

If you want to keep a close eye on it, its best to follow up with your sales person to get you the VIN.

I believe there are more details then just those two statuses but you would have to jump over to to the other thread for finer details and better ETAs.

I have posted there waiting for my post to be approved. I’ve also checked failcat but I am pretty sure it’s only for USA.

I received an email from the Dealership exactly 4 weeks after I ordered informing me of my VIN

Yea, failcat current just filters for US dealers only. There is a google sheet floating around, I believe its linked in the topic of "Production numbers" or something along those lines, where you can filter down for Canadian Cars, models and dealers they have been assigned to.

Sometimes its always good to reference that sheet just to make sure things line up.

Hey bud, just a quick update. Got an email today my Telluride will be ready to pick up next week on the 24th. It’ll be exactly a month since my VIN was sent to me by my dealership. 2 weeks earlier than the 6 week ETA

I made my order deposit Sept 8 (2021 Nightsky Gravity Grey) at Straightline Kia in Calgary. After five weeks with no word from them I enquired as to status. They indicated vehicle had just been shipped from Georgia factory, and would likely take four weeks until arrival at dealer, then a couple of days of inspection/prep at dealer, and then ready for pickup. So I am assuming I will likely see it end of Oct. They indicated their normal customer update process is to advise when vehicle arrives at dealership, ie a few days in advance of customer pickup, and that VIN would then be provided at that time.

They were vague in how vehicle is shipped, but implied vessel (to Vancouver via Panama Canal?, and then to Edmonton and down to Calgary?). I see others in Ontario are expecting shipment via rail. I came across an interesting story from 2019, with a Hyundai cargo ship out of Georgia bound for Middle East customers, going down with 4000+ Kia vehicles destroyed.

Straightline gave me a very good price OTD on the vehicle purchase, with minimal time haggling or up-sell pressure, so I was happy with that. I ordered $800 of accessories at list, as part of vehicle order, which I was fine with, given how attractive the vehicle pricing was.

I am now looking at additional accessories (premium floor mats, rims and winter tires, TPMS, 4 pin hitch, roof rack, etc) so potentially another $3-$4k, but dealer is sticking to list prices.

@Kwim has provided me a great referral for protective film/coating, and @GreekWiz put me on to a great rim and tire guy, so those areas are now covered. I will likely check with a few other dealers for pricing for the other accessories, and will likely get the roof rack via a specialist store, and install a Curt hitch and wiring myself. It would be interesting if someone could post a closeup picture of the installed Kia-branded hitch. I think it is actually manufactured by Curt as well.

Who for rims and tires?

Wow, that's pretty awesome. Can you confirm which model and colour you ordered?
