Sxl - no more
SXL Nappa - 1700
* figures are not exact, approximate. the dealers will receive the interest rate for August tomorrow and the conditions for deferol, if any.

No text or call today after dropping off the info yesterday, so not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing, like someone above said, maybe they are getting all the info tomorrow.

I am not too worried about the interest rate, since I would rather buy through my LoC which is under 3% and I can pay off quicker easier.

Damn I am starting to get priced out of the SX-L it seems, maybe I should have bought the blacked out SX-L last year I had a chance to buy, this new one will cost me $3000 more than that one did in the end. I want the SX-L, but didn't care about Napa, now I have no choice.

My dealer just called. He said the nightfall edition is coming to Canada as blackline edition. Here are the differences I got in an email from them..

Here is what is added to the SXL Black Line Telluride.

•20” Black Alloy Wheels

•Black Grill

•Black Roof Rack

•Black Skid Plates FT/RR

•Black DLO Trim



•Black Door & Bumper Garnish

•Dark Emblems

•Head/Fog Lamp Inner Bezel Black



Comfort:

•Non Nappa leather

The cost is 1500 on top.

Also the dealer told me that the price for the SX with nappa has now increased by 1200. I said that Kia Canada was going to eat the increase and they told me that's not true.

So new 2021 SX is 1200 more..
Add nightfall is going to be 2700 more.( 1200+1500)

Anyone else in Canada heard about this?

Edit: with regards to delivery, if I say yes to the nightfall edition, then I will know if my Tride is going to be delayed or not. The dealer said there are 3 or 4 nightfalls being built and it will be matter of allocation.

Someone please chip in regarding this

Yes. We ordered one but we were told it’s called Midnight Edition in Canada. They weren’t sure of price but we said we didn’t care. Thanks for clearing that part up.

Called my dealer now.

• The sales guy says that ETA could be September 1st week
• Doesnt have a VIN, but may get it in a week
• Not sure if he can covert the present booking to so Called Midnight edition (he was learning abt this from me)
• Also he was sure of the pricing for Midnight edition.
• But he said the regular SXL with Nappa will be priced 2% higher and at this time he doesnt have any confirmation from KIA will cover the diff

I consider the Ultimate Palisade as an alternative, I just called the dealer I thought it would now be better than Kia's
2021 without changes in options + 1% for financing, +700 bucks to the price list.

If you don't care about looks, go for it. I can get a Palisade for about $4000-$5000 less (my best friend is super good friends with the guy that owns the Hyundai dealership), but I think it's ugly, and I want the Telly. YOLO.

Unfortunately he does not own a Kia dealership and can;t really help me.

When I considered (for a few hours) of importing a Nightfall Edition up, they were going to help me.

I like both. different but for me both cars are beautiful.

Agreed - Palisade exterior has nothing on the Telly.

It’s only $1k more. Dealer gave me below MSRP price so less than SX Limited anyways so no brainer. Only thing that sucks is that blackout package can’t get nappa leather for some reason.

I don’t understand at all why pay that kind of money for shading and even then get problems: in Alberta, rims will turn into a piece of shit after the first winter. salt and sharp granite chips, which are sprinkled on roads, cannot withstand simple aluminum rims or 3m protection.
You can't change it under warranty, money's down the drain.

I will to go to a lawyer to consult about the INCREASE in price and how to put pressure on the dealer to get the terms in the contract.

We have no rights!

It turns out according to the law:
We have contracts for 2020, but if the dealer cannot fulfill the conditions, since the subject of 2020 no longer exists + Kia Canada announces in the media:
Offers available on select models to qualified retail customers who take delivery from **** to ****.

A dealer can perfectly legitimately propose a new price for 2021, it can perfectly legitimately offer a new% rate and / or conditions to stimulate demand. You can agree, or you can refuse, then the dealer should immediately return the deposit to you.
You can ask for compensation and go to court, but you must have strong evidence that by accepting the offers of this particular dealer, you abandoned the less profitable one and now you have now lost even more.
Those who have trade in in the contract (I was lucky here, since I have a fixed amount of trade in): you can refuse to buy telluride under the new terms, but the dealer is obliged to fulfill this part of the contract and buy your car from you if you want.
It's like additional leverage on the dealer to come to an agreement and reduce the cost.
