• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Canadian 2021 Telluride

@Peezie:

Looks fabulous! As far as interior, I know that Nappa leather is not an option with Nightsky - was there any choice on interior colour? I have seen photos of several different colour options in US models.

Kia.ca website doesn't yet provide full info on the 2021 Nightsky details and options.

Thanks, enjoy the ride!

@Western I can recommend Kia West Edmonton and Ryan Kelly.
I also talked to all the Edmonton dealerships prior to going with West Edm. Best deal to be had.

Did you end up paying the $2395 winterize package? Westend Kia is telling me 63k all in for the SX-L w/Nightfall Package.

No, got it included.

Well done! How your loving the new ride btw?
First day has been great. Also showing me how many bad habits I have. Apparently I don’t put on my signal light soon enough, cause the car try’s to fight me into staying in my lane :)

Also picked up what I was told was the last cargo liner in stock at Kia West Edm.

Hahaha, well at least that is correctable. Glad things are going well...we were really impressed with the test drive. So we'll see, maybe in a few months we'll purchase it.

Not sure if there are rules here on the forum prohibiting us from talking about price. Is 63k all in on par with what other ppl are paying for a SX-L with Nightfall Package?

When I was looking for telluride in April, West Kia offered me 28k 😱for my sedona, while Go Kia gave 36k. Naturally, it didn’t come to the discussion of the price for telluride, as I realized that the guys were greedy.

Since there is actually a forum that is about what everyone paid, it should be good to discuss.
Got mine for 60k, all in (inc shipping, taxes). Finance person said she couldn’t believe I got under MSRP, so I’m pretty happy.

That's fair..if I were you in that position I'd head over to go Kia as well. However, talking to all dealerships in Edmonton it seem as if KIA west and Ryan Kelly who I was dealing with knew what he was talking about. Maybe I got unlucky but the rest of other dealerships and who I got talking to sales were pretty clueless. Lol

Wowza!

Impressive indeed! Kia west was high in my research at 63k all in.....Kia in Red Deer and Kia South were about the 60k all in mark. Kia north Edmonton surprisingly couldn't give me a price over the phone....oh well!

No colour option for the night sky edition. Black is the only option. I would have picked Grey Nappa Leather If I had a choice. I originally went with Dark Moss Grey Nappa but then NightSky edition was added as an option to me by my dealer a week after I placed the order and I switched it.

I think I am the only one not in love with the NightFall Edition. What am I missing? I do like the tire/rims but also like the big shiny chrome Telluride font on the front and back.

I prefer the chrome over blacked out as well.

I would prefer the chrome as well but with the black rims. Anyone done that on the SX?

Hi folks - I've just joined the forum and have found it a great source of information already - thanks all!

I'm in Calgary and am planning to buy a 2021 Telluride SX Limited Nightsky Edition in Gravity Grey within a few days, and started visiting the Calgary dealers - Northland so far, others to follow. I'm planning to competitively quote and buy the vehicle as-is and endeavoring to avoid where possible the various "compulsory" additional fees and packages such as the "Prairie Package" at $2500.

I am pretty handy and from research it seems that I can via third parties easily add on the trailer hitch eg CURT 13420 and 4 pin jack (I don't need brake controller capability); the floor and cargo mats (SmartLine, TuxMat, or Weatherguard); and Thule or Yakima roof bars and storage pod. I will also get a set of steel rims somewhere, and winter tires via Costco. Block heater should be simple to add for $300-400 installed on a stand alone basis, the only part of the "Prairie Package" of value to me. Keeping all this separate and out of the purchase should keep things simpler and make it easier to compare prices apples to apples. I have been told to expect 3-4 months for delivery, and a $5k deposit at time of order. It will be a cash deal. No interest in extended warranty pkgs.

On the kia.ca web site the MSRP plus color, levies, delivery etc is $57,962. So in AB there is AMVIC, taxes, and "dealer admin" to be added in. And then they will no doubt endeavor to add in $2500 Prairie Package, accessories, etc.

In the past I have had good success using Unhaggle to handle the bidding process anonymously, and for only $99. In 2013 via Unhaggle I saved $4,000 on the in-demand Acura RDX over the best price that I could get from dealers who stuck to MSRP plus the usual mandatory fees and taxes. When I showed up at one of those same dealers with the Unhaggle paperwork where that dealer had bid a significantly lower price than they would give me face to face, they were surprised but sheepishly had to honor their bid price.

I'm not expecting to do so well this time, but for $99 I will give the Unhaggle process a try once again, and will report back. I may need to wait a few days as the online Unhaggle system does not yet include a menu item for the SX Limited Nightsky model.

The kia.ca web site seems to have a problem with its download brochure feature for the 2021 Telluride. Can anyone confirm for me what interior will come with the vehicle specced above - I have seen US photos with white interior inside at least one 2021 SXL Nightsky Gravity Gray, which is not my preference.

As well, it would be interesting to know what people are seeing as far as "mandatory" admin fees in the Calgary area.

People need to make a reasonable profit, and I respect that, and I also don't waste people's time. But I want quality at a fair value price, and don't appreciate being gouged or gamed.

Any comments or advice for me based upon what I have outlined above?

Thanks!

Check your PM.

Sorry, I’m trying to understand how were you able to get $6,600 off MSRP on a telluride?

On Kia.ca the MSRP for a night sky Version is $66,631 (texes @12%, delivery charge and all levies included). On top of that, I’m sure the dealers would include some type of fee, like an admin fee, finance fee, and who knows what else).
Just curious if I’m missing something here since I was under impression getting $1K or $2K Off MSRP on a Telly was great on its own.

We live in Alberta (5% taxes vs 12% taxes, so thats $4100 difference right there) and we did not pay for the bullshit fee they try to add on (Alberta Package, or whatever it's called in the east), because we factory ordered it before they can add on the "etching, block heater, and nitrogen" crap before you buy off the lot. We (I assume StoneyRob as well) did agree to their $500 admin fee because they need to make money too like everyone.

I got a very similar deal to StoneyRob. Slightly more because he lives in Edmonton, and living in Calgary we pay to get it shipped here from Edmonton, and Edmonton seems to have more dealers willing to deal slightly as opposed to Calgary,

All told I paid under MSRP right off the vehicle (not much, but I did), and then got some discounts off accessories I was going to get anyways, all told I got about $1500 off in the end after full MSRP for vehicle, full price for tow package (7-pin and brake) and full price for OEM Premium Mats (Rows 1/2/3 and 60/40 rear that everyone loves.)

I’m in Alberta. Only 5% taxes. Total cost all in for. SXL Nightsky was $60k even.
