As I posted here before, I had issues with Straightline Kia in Calgary before the 2001 Nightsky was even announced for Canada, I went in twice to them before hand with information (ammo) about the USA Nightfall, and then the Canadian "Blackline" was coming, and they just dicked me around, basically telling me I was wrong because their contact at Kia said was not coming, and telling me they will get back to me if they hear anything.
That was July, and guess what still no call from them. Just absolute garbage the way they treated me, I was willing to by at MSRP and I was just not taken care of at all IMO.
Luckily I took advice from a friend and went to a Kia dealer slightly further away, South Trail Kia and in 10 minutes over the phone, I had a deal for just under MSRP, papers signed the next day, text message a week later with my
VIN, and updates all along where it was (and below in my signature). It arrived at the dealer right on the same day we excepted, and while it took a couple extra days for me to get it it, I understood the prep and trailer hitch had to be done. They still had it done 2 days after it got there.
I did have a slight issue them only offering me 10% off the labour for installing the tow package ($15 discount?) and nmo other discounts (mats, etc), and them quoting my the wrong price on the mats I wants not once but twice, but soon after a pretty terse text from me saying I would not be buying any accessories or referring anyone after not getting any love while paying almost MSRP, they stepped up and gave me a decent discount on tow package and mats.
Since then my sales guy has been really good on answering a question or two, and I was more then fair/lenient on the 3+ wait for the 7-pin to be installed, and once after dropping vehicle of, and them not having the parts (3rd party).
I would recommend my sales guy (and I have to some) for anyone in Calgary and I would warn anyone going to Straightline, but I know
@Western and others have used then and have been happy (I think?) Maybe the manager was just dumb, or maybe they just did not have the right contact, regardless, maybe for in stock vehicles, they might be fine, but this was the 3rd encounter I had with them, and walked away without a vehicle for third time, I refused to pay their $2000 "Alberta" package on a 2020 I wanted to get in March.
As for issues, none so far, to be truthful, but only just hit my first 1000kms.
I am trying one tank of gas on each "drive" mode, and I am not a fan of ECO, I really liked Comfort, but now Smart is my favorite for sure. Obviously Sport is the best, but also trying to see what fuel mileage is on this thing. So far bang on 500 kms a tank, BUT my commute is only 5.7kms to work each day, and hardly any highway miles, and I like to have it warm when I get in. We also had some snow last week, and used Snow mode until I get my winter tires installed next week.
