Canvasback - Do they cover the rear sides?

From their website, I think the Canvasback cover does not fully cover the rear cargo area. It seems to be cut in a rectangular shape that would not cover the two little areas just behind the wheel wells. Can anyone with a Canvasback confirm if there is coverage or not? I've attached a pic with white boxes around where it doesn't appear to be protected


Can anyone recommend a soft cargo area cover that provides full protection? I've heard the hard one from Canada
is a bit too slippery for dogs to be stable on it, so I'm looking for a fabric one.

Is your interest in your dogs comfort or protection? I think if you threw a suitable sized thin dog bed in there on top of the cloth material, your dog would use it. As far as protecting the sides or the rear area, especially from scratching, I have seen nothing that protects these areas. And trust me, the black plastic scratches very easily. We have 2 Westies that we take for trips. The one is in a seat that mounts to one of the captains chairs in the 2nd row. To prevent the dog from trashing the plastic below the windows, I tape clear packing tape a few rows below it. It works. I also have the KIA carpet cover for the rear area and it does cover those areas you indicated.

Primary interest is full cargo area protection, with secondary being that it's not too slippery for our labs when they're in the car. In our CX-5 the rear cargo cover has small flaps to cover the side areas. Since the Canada rear cargo cover does have coverage for the sides, and you're noting the Kia Carpet cover has protection as well, I was hoping the Canvasback would.

I did look up RuffRugs and it appears they also cover the side areas. They may be the way I go.

And on the plastic trim on the sides, I'm not looking for protection for that. I do realize that will get scratched. it's more on ensuring the full floor area is protected and easy to get the dog hair out of.
