• THIS SECTION IS ONLY FOR DISCUSSIONS RELATING TO BUYING A TELLURIDE. PLEASE USE A DIFFERENT SECTION FOR POSTING MESSAGES ABOUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN BUYING A TELLURIDE. THANK YOU!

  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Consider the Price Gouging Officially Over

Sub MSRP is the next stage with invoice pricing soon to follow. Expect a sudden used inventory market as well.
Time will tell.. we will see.

It may be premature to make that call. However, the next 4-8 weeks will likely be a good time to go get good value on other brands.

Supply is going to be affected, would anticipate a continued inbalance as is with demand still higher than supply.

i knew greed will bite them in the.... greed never worked and I don't feel bad for them. so happy I didn't buy now, I was willing to pay MSRP but no they wanted 5k over. now i'll wait, not laugh, feel sorry for all that will be sent home... stay safe out there!

I would consider it the other way around. No one is buying cars right now (no demand), so they are cutting supply....

No one is buying cars...except those of us that have them on order and are still waiting. My job is secure as I can work from home - so my purchase timeline doesn't change. And others have been waiting much longer than me...still without cars. If production stops - and some of those buyers aren't impacted by the Corona Virus situation...KIA may lose them as buyers as they will go somewhere else.

Everyone is in a tough situation.

I'd say there will be cars waiting on lots with few coming in to pick up the orders. Already hearing of people getting dealers to make offers to them on some of the FB pages. There are also a lot of SX cars now showing on Cars.com and listed under MSRP on there (some are prob. customer orders, but ones that show discounts and real pictures likely aren't).

Here it comes. This was just sent to me by a dealership:

"First, we would like to extend Kia's offer of no payments for 120 days and 0% for up to 72 months (contact us for details)."

"Second, we are excited to let you know we have a "Buy from Home Option". We will work every detail of your new or used car purchase over the phone or via e-mail. After all terms have been met, one of our Sales Consultants will deliver your vehicle to your drive way."

"Third, We are offering Family pricing on every car on the lot, $1000 below dealer's invoice (not including 2020 Telluride).

I predict the last part will change as they grow even more desperate for sales.

You let me know when dealerships have inventories of SXP's on the lot with dealer cash on them...then we can talk.

Sure - KIA may have to put cash on their older inventory like the aging Optima, Sorento and Sedona...but the Telluride is still in high demand. Even as some customers back out - there are plenty of others that have been waiting and looking every day for something like their's to become available.

2 week shut down for the country coming. These same guys won't be selling anything. They will gladly love to make anything over MSRP. This will continue with the rest of the line probably heavily discounted. Just my thoughts.

If they could just get on with this shut down already, that'd be great. Would love to move on with our lives. Instead, many minivans and SUVs are running around all day taking kids to others houses and hitting up the stores. This won't end with people acting like that unless we find a treatment.

Agreed

Just because there are a few barriers to being able to fill the demand for a Telluride does not mean demand has wained. BTW, vehicles in my part of the country are still selling like fish during Lent.

Well, Cali is shelter in place for three weeks so they are literally selling nothing!

Just for the heck of it, I reached out to a dealer near me (Butler Kia in St. Louis) to get a quote for an AWD SX with Prestige package that's been on their lot since early February. The MSRP is $48,665. Their price quote was.... drum roll please... wait for it... wait for it... $57,660, not including "dealer prep fees," whatever those are... LOL. I didn't even bother to reply...

Yep. Good Luck with that. The longer it sits there....
