• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... When opening or closing hood it's kinda creaky (as opposed to creepy).
Mostly in cold weather.
Any suggestions short of replacing struts?

Just curious, how often are you opening the hood that this is a legitimate issue for you?

When I detail engine bay, change the oil, or check the oil & fluids every other fuel fill-up.

Are you sure its the struts and not the hinges?

To me this seems like an excessive obsession but then again theres a lot of unconventional requests and complaints on this forum here lately. I think I'm just getting old.

Good luck in your quest. You can always try some custom billet aluminum hinges and soft close struts.

More like obsessive compulsive. I'm a motorhead. Been participating in car shows for years, where dust on a coolant hose can cost you a trophy. So even though you're old, age is irrelevant here:cool:

Oh I get it trust me. I'm just not under the hood of mine as much for this to be an issue. Just thought you might be one of these Gen Z'ers who don't know how to drive stick or know anything about vehicles in general. Ha GL
